Plan ESL lessons, and teach various levels and age groups; design supplementary materials, write final exams and continuous assessment tasks.
Work for a US aid funded programme with elite STEM secondary school students and teachers. Design communicative and academic course outlines and materials for those students, encouraging them to explore different aspects of improving their English. Design course outlines and materials for the teachers aiming at improving their language acquiring skills through using data collected in their classrooms in course discussions, academic writing and projects, and then applying that knowledge in their lesson planning and teaching. Run, design and mark placement, mid-term and end of term tests.
Elicit the language needed in typical work place situations, through taking part in role-plays with doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and vets. Play the role of a patient, a patient’s relative or carer; or an animal’s owner or carer, if the exam taker is a veterinarian.
Assess candidates from a non-clinical perspective in areas covering communication and professionalism.
