Direct Accounting and Finance function of a growing Retail Fashion (Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Boggi & others), Food & Beverage (Paul, Butcher Shop, Columbus café & others) & Multimedia (Virgin) Company. Supervise three team members (Seven before Shared Service) and oversee financial Reporting, financial audits, in accordance with IFRS. Develop and manage external financial relationships (e.g., banks, auditors, insurers) and constantly look for ways to strengthen overall financial performance and improve the accuracy of financial statements.
• Strategic Reporting - Finalization of Financial Projections annual exercise, Sales forecast, Road Map, Business & strategic Plans, Flash Reports, FC Reports to the CFO, Board meeting presentations & Quarterly reviews.
• Corporate Reporting - Responsible for the preparation of Group Corporate Reporting package and submitting it to the Regional after Auditors certification for consolidation of Group Financials annually.
• Management Reporting - Developed MIS Reports templates, Store Performance reports, and various reports required by the management - Simulations, feasibilities and other non-routine reports.
• Budgeting - Budgeting exercise for Finance & accounting department; assisting other departments; consolidating the Country’s budget and reporting it to Regional Office annually. Monthly budget comparison with variance analysis.
• Auditing - Responsible for the completion of year-end statutory audit, reviewing the draft financials and obtaining the Audited financials for Board approval within deadline. Managing internal audits requirements.
• Banking - Bank facilities, Working capital management, Cash flow forecast, Forex template, Forex dealings with banks in coordination with Group Treasury team. Finalizing the Bank’s Facility Offer letter, periodic review forms and other required documentation by the banks.
• Taxation - Responsible for the periodic filing & payment of VAT to the VAT authority in collaboration with the team members & the External Tax Consultants.
• Accounting Modules - Working knowledge of Bank reconciliation, Fixed Assets & Intangible assets, General Ledger Entries, Provisions, Prepaid amortization, Compulsory and adjustment entries, such as dividends, Profits transfer to reserves and revaluation for investment in Equity as per IFRS9.
• Shared Service Project - Assisted Ex. Financial Controller in the Shared Service project, including banking (Host to Host) and other documentations, assisting the team with the automation process in various modules such as sales, payment, GL, Vouchering, Visual Lease and others.
• Process Enhancement - Worked as a Bahrain representative for process enhancement i.e., testing, analyzing, identifying & reporting errors or anomalies for the regional automation project in various modules of ERP - JD Edwards (Reporting platform - Hyperion, Audit Reporting package, Prepaid, Payroll integration, Asset, Account reconciliation, Bank reconciliation, Sales module, Integrity check, Lease module, Monetary valuation, etc.). VAT Implementation in coordination with the consultant & regional.
