Key Responsibilities:
Design and Planning:
• Management of multiple residential and commercial projects including leading the internal design team and coordination with external consultants from the briefing stages to the technical design stage.
• Coordinating work with teams overseas in an efficient manner to ensure effective communication.
• Assisting in the development of working drawings using ArchiCAD, Revit and AutoCAD at multiple stages of design to support the lead architects in communicating with other consultants and contractors.
• Composing presentations including diagrams, plan layouts and renders using ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for efficient communication with the client.
• Coordinating with quantity surveyors to develop cost estimates for commercial projects.
• Responsible for mentoring junior staff and interns to acquaint them with company procedures and software.
• Managing and developing client contract documents, invoices, consultant agreements and design stage project schedules.
• Preparing municipality drawings and documentation in a precise manner to attain required approvals.
• Managing design tasks during the various design stages, with a small team in a fast-paced environment.
Site Supervision:
• Reviewing Transmittals, RFIs, Checklists, Contractual procedures and monthly payments to ensure proper documentation and communication with the contractor.
• Conducting and organizing site coordination meetings with the contractor and client.
• Communicating information via meetings and site reports to the client to keep them updated on current progress and payments due.
• Attending coordination meetings with the main contractor and sub-contractors to address concerns and design solutions for potential clashes on site.
• Supporting the lead architects to develop working drawings, details, schedules and create ArchiCAD models and libraries.
• Assisting the senior staff to prepare client presentations and physical model development.
• Worked closely with the lead architects to establish and update the folder system organization to ensure proper documentation and easy access to various files.
Key Modules : Federated BIM, Information and Communication Technology, Principles of Project Management, Principles of Design and Construction, Management of Construction Processes and Techniques, Sustainability in the Built Environment. As part of my postgraduate studies, I researched intensively on BIM, sustainability and designing out waste while working on my dissertation titled ‘The potential of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to facilitate designing out waste’.
