Main involvement in Center Block Rehabilitation (CBR) Project; the largest, most complex heritage rehabilitation project ever undertaken in Canada is also the first major renovation to Canada’s main parliament building since 1916. This project was motivated by a great vision based on innovation, state-of-the-art technology, outstanding architecture, and sustainability. The design will address all architectural & engineering aspects of the building such as rehabilitation, modernization, seismic solution, safety, accessibility, and public / official’s requirements.
In this position, I provided overall Design Management services for delivering the entire project design and construction documentation. This includes managing the multidiscipline coordination process that includes several specialty consultants in addition to the main engineering consultants.

Providing project management & architectural services for several healthcare construction /design projects. Main duties were:
 Prepares initial fee proposals and adheres to established scope of services. Negotiates additional service fees with Clients for additions to project scope and/or revised responsibilities.
 Establishes detailed work plans to meet project milestones and continually monitors progress. Monitors the time spent by staff at all levels during all project phases and modifies the project work plan to conform with the fee, budget, and schedule, or takes other action to correct situations where tasks extend beyond the project fee, budget, and/or schedule.
 Prepare and manage owner / Architect agreement, project schedule, and project budget parameters and organize work activities to be in conformance. Takes responsibility for rectifying variances from established project goals. Negotiates final Agreements with clients and consultants. Manages the financial performance of projects by proper allocation of resources, timely initiation and resolution of critical tasks, and effective decision-making.
 Participating in shaping project design concepts to meet client expectations and adhering to these concepts in the execution of the work and in assignments to junior staff.
 Manage the design process from conceptual design through detail stage. Responsible for preparing work plans including staff projections and resource leveling. Responsible for financial monitoring of projects, including review of invoices, receivables collection, and scope compliance.
 Manage the work efforts project team on a day-to-day basis and function as the primary facilitator of communication with the Client and other members of the project team.
 Directs and supervises the work of junior-level staff in the preparation of drawings, studies, models, and other project tasks. Monitor progress, identify issues for resolution, develop strategies for presentation to the client, inform the Principal in Charge and/or related discipline leader of issues, and recommend a course of action.
 Actively participated in strategic discussions with senior management on issues that affect the Firm’s performance, perception in the marketplace, client satisfaction, and profitability.
 Communicates lessons learned on projects. Plays a leadership role in conveying lessons learned to the office. Emphasizes and maintains a customer/client focus and future relations.

Site-based position, responsible for two 6-story hotels & 12-story residential building. Below is a list of main duties.
 Project planning and scheduling. Establish milestones and perform critical path analysis.
 Search and negotiate with vendors. Prepare RFQ and PO for the project’s various trades.
 Monitor project performance indices to ensure meeting schedule and budget.
 Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
 Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
 Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
 Assist in the coordination of A/E construction drawings and arrange for related meetings.
 Develop company procedures and project communication policies.

Providing Project Management Consultancy Services for healthcare design projects. Below is a list of main duties.
 Operating a web-based management system for project tracking and control.
 Participating in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
 Preparing project proposals and cost estimates.
 Preparing payment structure and follow-up.
 Setting up document control & submittal procedures.

Main involvement: Sidra Research and Medical Center -419 beds, located in Qatar. The Project was a Design-built contract executed in a fast-tracking environment. Construction costs exceeded 7.9 billion dollars. In this role, I managed the healthcare design team to successfully deliver an approved schematic design package. During the initial construction phase, I was a key player in coordinating between 39 specialized consultants and a multi-disciplinary and complex Client team. I’ve also assisted the GC in reviewing construction documentation, client comments, and preparing change orders claims. Below is a list of main duties.
 I was part of the core team that initiated the Stantec office in the Middle East region in 2007.
 Managed communication procedures between the Middle East offices and the USA headquarters office.
 Assisted in business development and marketing process.
 Acted as the healthcare architect and planner for several projects.

• Was responsible for the design, development and delivery of 11 sport venues including: Football,
Basketball, Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, Tennis, Soft tennis, squash, Body Building, Weight lifting and Chess.
• Managed site construction & maintenance activities.
• Managed and supervised decommission of all construction contracts.
• Designed, developed and scoped all overlay requirements for the build of event/games requirements
• Coordinated with major Games/Event stakeholders, such as: Sports, IT, Media, Broadcast, Logistics,
Protocols, etc.
• Prepared design & construction schedules. Supervised drawing production and complying with project
schedules.

• Led design development process for several high rise buildings, ranging from 20 to 50 story height.
• Supervised construction permits issuing procedure.
• Led communications with governmental agencies (i.e. electrical / water department and civil defence)
• Participated in conceptual design, interior design, and site supervision for variety projects.
