Currently, I am a retired Transportation Engineering Professor, a Freelance registered Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant and Subject Specialist on Land Traffic and Highway with the Department of Environment (DOE), Malaysia; and my task involved conducting and reporting EIA studies on assigned projects development for DOE approval.
I joined Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or the National University of Malaysia as a Lecturer on the 15th. September 1986. My profession involved teachings in selected civil engineering courses, supervising undergraduate final year students’ research projects and conducting research. I was promoted to an Associate Professor on the 1st. January 1999 due to my excellent in teachings, supervision and publications.
My career continued in teachings, supervision undergraduate final year students’ research projects then expended to teaching and supervising master and PhD students and conducting research projects at UKM. I was promoted as a chair of full Professor in Transportation Engineering on the 4th. December 2008 due to my excellent performance in teachings, supervisions, publications and other academic activities.
After more than 30 years in service, I took the compulsory retirement at the age of 60 years on the 19th. December 2016. Subsequently, I was offered three times a yearly Tenure Transportation Engineering Professor until 25th. August 2020.
