I have started & setup the Microbiology Laboratory and reached 6000 culture testing within first month & 15000 tests within three months of operation. I am heading the Microbiology lab & responsible for overall smooth functioning of the laboratory. I am involved in decision making in procurement of materials, kits, chemicals & equipments. I am also involved in ensuring quality practices as per HAAD, CAP & CLIA standards. I am also imparting training to technical staff, involved in diagnostic microbiology, cost analysis etc. Recently I have prepared my lab for ISO15189 accreditation & successfully pass the audit & awarded accreditation (ISO 15189) of our laboratory.


The Lifecare hospital is a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited, 200 bedded super specialty District General Hospital situated in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi. This is a unit of VPS healthcare group which is an integrated Healthcare provider with network of hospitals, chain of medical centers across the Middle East, Europe & Asia.

I was involved in routine diagnostic microbiology & accreditation activities of the Microbiology section; responsible for supervision of all microbiology tests to ensure the provision of high quality, timely and efficient diagnostic services.

Academic activities: Attending/presenting weekly seminars & journal reviews.

I worked on automated systems like BactAlert; MiniVidas & Vitek-2 compact system apart from routine laboratory work.
