Director of Infrastructure

January 2014 - Present

AECOM

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

I found this job using Bayt.com

January 2014 - Present

In April 2014 I took the role of the Project Director and the “Engineer’s Representative” responsible for all contractual matters on the Dammam Port Project, which was followed in May by taking the role of the Resident Engineer until the beginning of June 2014. AECOMs scope of works was to design and supervise the construction works of the port (Marine works, Cranes/Admin Buildings/Ware houses/ Loading and Offloading areas and all associated infrastructure). I was supervising a team of 14 staff on site plus 2 Contractual Advisors on the project. The Contractor was CNC of China and the client was Saudi Global Ports.
In early June 2014 I was asked to join the team delivering AECOM’s scope in Riyadh Metro (The Engineering Section) reporting to BACS (Consortium responsible for the delivery of designs on Lines 1 & 2 on the Riyadh Metro Project) filling the role of the Chief Highways Engineer. Initially I ran a team of over 40 staff working on the enabling works and utility diversions. This was then complimented by a second team of 12 to deliver the associated highway modifications resulting from implementing the line 1 and line 2 of Riyadh Metro inclusive of all improvements to the Highways and parking etc.
I then added another team of 6 to deliver the Drainage works along line 1 and parts of line 2 which also took account of the adjacent catchment areas to the Line 1 works resulting in major drainage network design.
In December 2017 I was also given another package to deliver on Line 1 called the 1SS1 Track Substation and became the Call off Contract Authorised Representative responsible for all contractual matters on 6 call off contracts.
In July of 2018 I took on board the management of a completion team and all construction related activities dealing with completion works and Construction Phase Services dealing with all construction related issues (FCD’s, RFI’s and NCRs) related to Viaducts, Elevated Stations and Portal to Portal.
In the last 3 years of the RMP my work concentrated on leading the Construction Phase Services and dealing with all site queries as well as preparing 3 Witness Statements and over 10, 000 documents of evidence for the AECOM’s Arbitration case. I was a witness for AECOM’s Call Off Contracts during the Arbitration that was held in London in March 2021.
