Wolseley is the worlds largest building and plumbing materials distributor. I was one of the youngest managers at one of the busiest branches in the company after working my way through the ranks and always pushing to progress my career. Taking the No.1 role in this operation, i had to drive forward sales and profitability, whilst ensuring outstanding levels of service to my customer base. This involved taking full budgetary responsibility, as well as leading, motivating and developing the branch team. I also had to maximise the profitability of the Network, ensuring that its resources were exploited efficiently and that the overall operation is aligned towards exceptional customer service and significant profitable growth.
I provided support to the branch manager assisting in all operational activities ensuring we continue to maintain the highest levels of customer service, whilst maximising sales and margin. It is a first line supervisory role which meant being involved in a range of branch and supplier activities. I also managed a small team of my own and was responsible for budgetary control and profit margin.
I was part of a fast moving branch team and acted as the main point of contact for customer queries and questions and consistently provided customer service of the highest possible standard. In addition i strived to maximise our sales potential and effectively deal with a range of administrative tasks.
