• Liaise with client representatives, contractors, site engineers and sub-contractors on issues related to the review and approval of method statements, drawings and other technical documents related to mechanical works.
• Attend coordination meetings with project team, client, contractors, sub-contractors and other stakeholders.
• Review contractor’s technical submittals, prequalification documents, method statements, shop drawings, value engineering proposals, RFI’s and coordination issues, etc.
• Assisting Resident Engineer in ensuring that all Mechanical works in the project are in accordance with the specifications and project requirements.
• Act as site representative on all matters related to mechanical works
• Full awareness of project specifications and requirements related to mechanical works
• Monitor contractor’s Mechanical works to ensure compliance with specifications, plans and drawings.
• Review results of inspection and tests to ensure compliance to project specification
• Monitor and check contractor’s mechanical works to ensure safety and quality.
• Provide accurate information and data to Resident Engineer for inclusion in Progress Reports
• Track and monitor RFIT’s and RMI’s and ensure timely closure of any issue raised
• Review and verify corrective actions established from NCR’s and Discrepancy Reports related to mechanical works.
• Serving as the senior site representative for all matters related to construction quality assurance of mechanical works.
• This includes reviewing contractor’s mechanical/technical submittals, prequalification documents, method statements, shop drawings, value engineering proposals, RFI’s and coordination issues.
• Review contractor’s mechanical change order proposals and prepare any appropriate recommendations to Resident Engineer for review.
• Witness testing and commissioning of the works. Assist with the final inspection of the work and to monitor final completion of the work.
• Initiating and participation in co-ordination of design work between disciplines to ensure the design solution is complete for the project.
• Organizing and controlling the engineering team or discipline team assigned to the project and to ensure that the most effective use is made of its capabilities.
• Ensuring that each project under direction is managed within the time and cost constraints determined at the time of appointment.
• Participating in project review meetings when necessary to ensure that the project is technically correct, co-ordinate, on time, and within budget.
• Managing and directing project staffs under own control with regard to technical and design matters.
