Hobbies

  • Construction
I am not formally qualified in this field but love project managing building projects. I built my own house in 2014/15 and delivered it 2 weeks ahead of schedule! During the pandemic I volunteered on two significant construction projects at Esher tennis club and I completed a Grand Design barn build on a hillside farm in Devon which at 4600 sq ft and acres of glass was very complex.
  • Motorsport
I am passionate about cars and enjoy both driving and spectating. I own a modern classic Alfa Romeo 75 track car and an RS Clio 200 hot hatch. I am a member of the prestigious Goodwood Road racing Club (GRRC) and attend many motorsport events at this historical circuit. I am also a member of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and attend Italian car events.
  • Reading historical novels
I love reading good stories that are based around historical events in various parts of the world. my favourite authors are Edward Rutherford, Conn Gulden, Ken Follet and Sebastien Faulks.
  • Padel
I led the introduction of Padel to Esher Tennis club whilst serving on the committee as a volunteer and project managed the delivery of two high quality floodlit courts working with the Lawn Tennis Association, the local Planning department, a number of contractors plus the committee and club membership.
