To be right back
I was in the Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Department. My duty was for three weeks working at the instrumentation calibration workshop as an instrumentation technician. Then I was sent to DCS for monitoring how they are running the whole company and It was very interesting when I had a job on one of the PLCs Siemens brand. And after that I went to the Utility department for one more week. In addition, I went to the refinery segment for again one week. By the end they took me to shift group where I was working as an instrumentation technician. Training for eight weeks it was not fair enough because my diploma coop training was in Schlumberger totally away of my major but anyhow I got benefit thanks Allah.
My duty was working on the project of Ibn Rushed and I was upgrading graphics using Centum VP software. I upgrade more than 300 graphics during my training after they trained us my peers and me on how to run Centum VP. The total number of graphics we worked on were about 1300 graphics divided into six trainees.
In brief my duty as Field Specialist is to control the pressure and flow rate at the surface and collect the surface sample for testing purposes. The fluids produced during a test must be handled using surface testing equipment when permanent production facilities are not available. These are some of equipment’s that I had been in touch with: Flowhead, Surface Safety Valve, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) System, Floor Choke Manifold, Data Header, Oil and Gas Manifolds, Transfer Pump, EverGreen Burner and many more. Most of the time, I was working at the DOSB in the well services as a maintenance technician. Then I was sent to the field to Khorais and Hawtah for the jobs until the end of training for testing more than 15 wells which gave the strong understanding of their job.
It was a nice experience when I took a part time job inside the campus to support and help students to get their needs such as printings documents and helping them to solve any academic issues and explaining some difficult parts in the academic studies specially in mathematics courses when they do not understand during the lectures. In addition, there were some managerial tasks given to me inside the library. It was really unforgettable job because I was involved and work with many people stuff and students.
