I participated in the geological investigations in order to define surface and subsurface geological parameters and characteristics, stratigraphic relationships, geological hazards, stability study, concept and final design/review, preparation of geological maps, cross-sections and reports. As noted, all my experiences serve my field of interest. Planning and design of rock excavation and slope stabilization worksin the following projects;
* Third Saudi Haram Expansion project, Makah, Saudi Arabia. Rock cut and rock support design, preparation of detail and general Excavation plan, Estimation of rock mass parameters, Q and RMR classification for various tunnels for the holy Haram expansion and fixing of their alignments based on geological and geotechnical findings etc.
* Six pedestrian tunnels, 2 Electrical tunnels, 2 Utility tunnels with Central utility system of All Makah Haram Tunnels Project in Saudi Arabia.
* Makah First Ring Road and Bus stations, Makah, Saudi Arabia. Responsible for the designation of rock cut and rock support alongside, preparation of detailed Excavation plan for four different bus stations, Estimation of rock mass parameters, Q and RMR classification for more than six tunnels.
* Park Dounya, Cheràga, Algeria. Following up the site investigation, studying the geology, preparing of geological map of the project area and making several cross sections with the data of more than 400 boreholes.
* And many other projects of Qatar, Egypt, Ghana, Angola, Nigeria.
As part of the exploration team my day to day tasks vary considerably, with a very agreeable mix between field works such as rock Identification, geological mapping, geochemical Sampling, trenching, underground sampling, mine mapping and office based work. I have been undertaking the collection and interpretation of structural data from existing mine sites as well as exploration targets, due diligence of a possible tenement acquisition and giving the exploration company recommendations on future exploration targets using my structural geology knowledge.
