Employed as the Quick Reaction Force Team leader, leading a multi-national team providing security for excess of 100 clients working for China Petroleum Engineering & Construction. This role involves the daily running of a split 12 man mixed national Quick Reaction Force to provide protection to Chinese clients working at the Qarmet Ali Water Treatment Plant (Basra). The Quick Reaction Force is responsible for the internal security of the Qarmet Ali Compound where Chinese clients and G4S mixed nationals stay whilst on duty. It is also the role of the Team Leader to resume the role of Watch keeper during dark hours, working alongside the Site Security Manager (SSM)

Key Responsibilities:
•Brief the oncoming shift supervisors on any change to task or threat levels
•Ensure perimeter checks are carried out to maintain security effectiveness
•Monitor teams performance and reaction with relevant scenario training
•Ensure all daily and weekly returns are completed and sent in a timely manner
•Responsible for the welfare, discipline, leave and monthly salaries of three teams
•Ensure that full training and personal records are maintained for all G4S personnel
•Act as the Watchkeeper and overall responsibility of base security during dark hours
•Assist the Site Security Manager when and where required

Security Operations Manager at G4S RISK MANAGEMENT

Employed as the Assisting Security Operations Manager (ASOM) on the British Petroleum contract, this demanding role involves having full control of all security implications, including access control to all sites, managing the vehicle fleet and personnel to the largest logistic supply base in Southern Iraq within the Rumaila Oil Field. Directly responsible the internal security of the supply base, and managing the 45 man strong guard force. The job also involved daily interaction and with British Petroleum clients, contractors and subcontractors working within Rumaila Oil Field and insuring their safety was never in question.




Key responsibilities include:

• Attending briefings with the G4S Security Operations Manager and in turn briefing the Iraqi supervisor
• Checking all defensive posts are manned, guards correctly dressed and with the correct equipment
• Manage and co-ordinate all communications
• Assess and supervise any local security requirements
• Responsible for the welfare, leave and monthly salaries for three guard shifts
• Ensure that all security plans are implemented, updated and tested on a regular basis
• Implemented G4S Standard Operating Procedures at all times
• Participate in and coordinate the security response to emergency calls
• Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported as per G4S Standard Operating Procedures
• Conduct regular training to evaluate the guards performance,
• Ensure that full training and personal records are maintained for all G4S personnel
• Ensure all daily and weekly returns are completed and sent in a timely manner

Employed as a Team Leader on the Tekfen Oil & Gas contract, this role involves running a four or six man local national team in order to provide security to the client on North and South Rumania Oil Field as well as outer province missions. Ensuring the client understands the vehicle safety brief and procedures. Having the ability to react to any incident and administer first aid. Ensure that client confidentiality is paramount while being diplomatic and client focused at all times. Ensuring the team drive in a diligent, safe manner and adhere to the speed limits on and off the oil field, have the ability to navigate around the oil field, ensuring that the team vehicles and equipment are serviceable and presentable and all legal documentation for movement is in date and complete.

This job involved working as part of a team and also on a one to one basis with British and American Embassy clients, escorting and ensuring their personal safety against any threat in Lash ka gah and at various military locations around Helmand Province. The military locations I was responsible for were Fob Jakker in Nawa District (US Marine) and Fob Castle in Kinission District (US Marine).
My key responsibilities included:
• Ensuring the safety of my clients at the Fob locations and briefing them accordingly.
• Liaising with US Military to plan mobile/foot/heli movements for my client and ensuring various security measures were in place prior to deployment.
• Carrying out safety, base and ground orientation briefs to new or visiting British Embassy/FCO Personnel that visited the FOB locations that I was responsible for.
• Being computer proficient and sending all daily/weekly returns.
