Project: Dubai International Airport - C4, APM, C1 renovation & upgrade
Duties:
• Overseeing and monitoring technical and construction staff, handling and approving project’s documents such as materials, subcontractor approval, reports, method statements, calculations, requests for clarifications and information, samples, plant, shop drawings, as-built drawings and equipment.
• Handle the planning aspects of the project, create and hand out schedules for construction staff working in the field, make sure that all construction activities are being carried out in accordance to preset safety rules & regulations and comply with the project specifications.
• Perform field quality control observations and assessments, inspect and assess the quality of workmanship and materials being used on site.
• Provide technical advice to field staff in order to ensure that construction procedures are being carried out properly, identify construction problems, constraints and plan and carry out structural proposals and measures to resolve and counter them.
• Prepare period reports and assessments for each project phase, such as weekly and monthly reports, lead progress, technical, coordination and other meetings with the client and relevant concerned parties.
• Verify and approve contractor's interim payment and handle variations cost estimate requirements.
• Review and approve contractor’s program and monitor progress of the works, make sure that deadlines are complied to the contractual milestones and client requirements
• Manage the design changes and take the lead to ensure proper coordination between DAR's design offices in Beirut, Cairo and Dubai is met.

Achievements:
• Implementation of performance management system (Achievement and Development Review “ADR”). Guide and support the staff to perform self appraisal prior management evaluation, by which they could reflect upon the goals they would like to reach throughout the following year.
• Achieve a very essential and aggressive target of developing the Dubai Airport Support facilities by constructing the CMF (Combined Maintenance Facility) and EKFC (Vehicle Maintenance Workshop) facilities in only 4 month. The vision for Dubai Airport is to become one of the largest Airports in the world, to meet the frequent economic and Airline growth and to deliver a world class service, by which the development of such support facilities is a prime and integral part of the mission towards achieving this vision.

Project: Marassi World Class, Resort Community, Mediterranean North Coast, Egypt

Duties:
• Develop, implement, and maintain the strategic business objectives of the stakeholders and top management, manage and control project schedules and budget ensuring that the revenue and other financial goals are met
• Oversee Emaar's managers & senior managers, Turner’s site team, supervision consultants, Gleeds’s QS team, establish and manage the project structure to ensure timely project delivery.
• Directing and overseeing the field quality control teams and assess the status of work completion for issuing the handing over certificate according to contract obligations, and finalize snagging, outstanding works and project closure reports with end users signoff ensuring the quality of deliverables as per Emaar's standards.
• Develop project specific risk management plan, and lead the project management team in order to mitigate any risk may impact the approved business plan.
• Review and approve contractors’ programs and monitor progress of the works for each particular package, make sure that deadlines are complied with the contractual milestones and stakeholders & top management business plan.
• Review and certify the monthly interim and final payments, manage the negotiation for contractor’s claims for additional payment, cost entitlement and delays and report of recommendations to direct manager.
• Communicating and developing relationships with end users, operation & facility management team, Emaar Hospitality, stakeholders and top management.

Achievements:
• Initiate and take the lead of suggesting and implementing new construction technique for soil improvement by using Stone Piles/Micro Piles rather than traditional raft foundation as designed by the project’s consultant save Millions of pounds. Lead the technical committee with Turner to select the qualified contractor to perform this kind of work.
• Take the decision of eliminating 50mm plain concrete underneath the slab on grade as part of a VE with cost saving of 3, 500, 000 L.E.
• Initiate and take the lead of suggesting and implementing redesigning the sewage network & road work to save a cost of almost 3, 000, 000 L.E. and save time of 60 days to be able to get done of almost 2.7 km of all utilities, aggressive dewatering as well as road works for two carriage ways of the Ring Road phase I in just 5 months to meet the summer target.
• Propose modification to backfilling specs after negotiate the technical aspect with the concerned consultant to allow using part of the excavated material (comply with the new specs) as a backfilling inside the villas rather importing it from outside which saved approximate cost of 20, 000, 000 L.E.
• Meet the summer target of 2008, 2009, 80% of 2010 and 70% of 2011 & 2012’s summer targets, although the impact due 25th of January revolution.
• Take charge of all General Manager and Head of Projects duties since Aug 2009 till Mar 2011, reporting directly to the CEO.
• Mitigate the impact on the overall progress in Marassi of 25th of January revolution which falls under “Force Majeure contract clause”, Recent civil disturbance, riots and instability associated with 25 January revolution has dramatically impacted the project in which put a pressure on Emaar Marassi team to convince all contractors, consultants, Turner and Bedouins to resume the work only couple of days after the revolution; in order to send a clear message to all parties that Emaar will continue to achieve the required target; although the site is on remote location and the effective curfew affected the manpower on site and the majority of the employees were not able to commute due to absence of police, lack and unsecure transportation to site.

Achievement
• Doha was the first city in its region and only the second in West Asia to host the 15th Asian Olympic Games (Asiad) from December 1 to December 15, 2006, accordingly it was a challenging to complete such a fast track project in limited time, by which I had to work with the contractor in a cooperative manner and utilizing my site team to work with him 24/7 to get the project done on time and up to international quality standards.

Duties:
• Preparing Architectural and Structural Shop Drawings.
• Coordinate between Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Shop Drawings.
• Check the Design of Project Facilities According to Standard Codes (ACI & AISC) and project Specifications.
• Provide Technical support to construction team on site problems.
• Perform Structure analysis and Design and prepare detailed drawings for all related Formwork.
• Review Manufactures submittals to meet contract requirement.
• Review & follow up the imported Civil Material on site.
• Prepare the statement of work for some special activities.
• Design and oversee the fabrication of the horizontal truss supporting the sheet piles wall of the breakwater.
Achievement
• Save 500, 000 $ of the Railway beams & Guide Dolphins formwork cost, save one month of project duration. As the original plan was to higher DOKA “Formwork Experts” in which the materials will coming from Europe and will take almost 4 weeks to reach the Egyptian seaport their Formwork. I took the initiative to be responsible of performing the structural analysis and design, prepare a detailed workshop drawings, utilizing the available material at store & purchase the remaining, oversee the fabrication on the workshop to taking into account the assembling, setting, stripping and shoring details.
• Managing the Egyptian Navy engineering staff issue related to the concern of damaging the ship hull during testing, in which therefore I took the responsibility of designing and oversee the fabrication of a unique structure (Cradles) after coordinating with, taking into account the load transfer & support points on to avoid any potential damage.

• Grain Silo-Bunker & Oil Seed Process Plant, Borg El Arab, Alexandria, performing design analysis, preparing the construction drawings and managing the project execution which consists of RC Grain Bunkers 80, 000 MT storage capacity with steel framing structure, Boiler & Steam Turbine, Extraction Plant & Cooling Tower, 12 Oil tanks (each 3000 MT), Water and Oil Pump House, Platform Truck Scales, Underground Water Tank, Maintenance Shop (Steel Structure)
• Olympic Stadium, Mubarak Olympic Village, Alexandria, performing design analysis, preparing the design drawings for the RC main frames, main façade, hollow core slabs under seating, raker beams and columns, concourses, and ramps in addition to the associated facilities.
• Olympic Swimming & Diving Covered Pools, Mubarak Olympic Village, Alexandria, performing design analysis, preparing the design drawings in addition to the associated facilities.
• Green Plaza Shopping Mall, Alexandria, total area of almost 30, 000 Sq. m, performing design analysis, preparing the design drawings for the 400 Shops, Restaurants, Cinema & Theater Complex and Hilton Green Plaza Hotel.
• Beverly Hills Residential Compounds - SODIC, One of the first ever large scale residential compounds to be developed in Sheikh Zayed City-Cairo, 5500 FED, 3000 of luxurious villas, town houses and apartment, club house, sports facilities, International Schools, Mega Mall, Medical Center. As a joint venture with Hussein Sabbour Consulting Bureau we performed the design analysis, preparing the design drawings for the luxurious villas, town houses and apartment as well as coordinating the development of the master plan with the international consultants & Turner.
