• Adhere to and implement Arabtec Construction internal HSE management system requirements and procedures for Arabtec Construction site team.

• Monitor the compliance of all WSA staff with the applicable safety standards and company’s procedures and bring to the attention of the Project Manager any safety violations by WSA site team for their further action.
• Monitor, assess and report on Contractor and Sub Contractors HSE compliance with the project HSE requirements as per the Contract and HSE legislation / best practice
• Immediately bring to the attention of the Arabtec Construction PM the critical and outstanding safety issues for their further actions.
• Conduct and co-ordinate regular safety training for WSA staff.
• Carry out daily site HSE tours with Contractor HSE staff and highlight findings.
• Issue Non Conformance Report (NCR) as per applicable Arabtec Construction SIN procedure.
• Follow up with the Contractor on outstanding HSE issues, including SEN’s and ensuring prompt closure with adequate evidence of compliance.
• Review and comment of the Contractors HSE Plans. Advise the Contractor to update the site safety plan when necessary.
• Review and comment on Contractors risk assessments and work method statements.
• Develop and update Arabtec Construction HSE documents (the Safety File), e.g. HSE Plan, HSE specific site risk assessment, office risk assessment, office fire risk assessment, etc.
• Conduct accident and incident investigations for Arabtec Construction staff.
• Compile accident report and incident statistics.
• Chair weekly safety meetings where required with the Contractor and other parties as necessary. Issue MOM on time (within 48 hours). Report any outstanding and critical safety issues or lack of action by the Contractor in the weekly progress meetings.
• Prepare and maintain Arabtec Construction HSE registers, e.g. training, induction, SEN, inspection reports, accident/Incident, and others as required.
• Report any accident on site immediately to Arabtec Construction UAE Health and Safety Manager and Line Manager.
• Communicate, coordinate and seek any advice from Arabtec Construction UAE Health and Safety Manager as required.
• On major issues, prior to issuing Safety Enforcement Notices - Prohibition Notice - seek advice from Arabtec Construction UAE Health and Safety Manager.
• Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with UAE Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) legislation and Contractors HSE Plan and report and follow up any breaches.
• Liaise with the Employer, Contractors and the Site Supervision Team and report status of safety issues.
• Liaise with contractors’ Project Managers, Construction Managers and Safety Managers to improve safety provisions.
• Prepare regular weekly, monthly and other reports as required on safety matters for issue to the Employer and Project Manager.
• Ensure that relevant safety measures have been put in place for Arabtec Construction Engineers & Inspectors and provide training as and when require.
• Co-ordinate safety-related activities for Arabtec Construction team and mentor regularly.
• Carry out inductions for Arabtec Construction site staff.
• General HSSE advice as required.
• Maintain an effective Accident Prevention Program in support of Baraka Nuclear Power Plant zero tolerance safety goal;
• Ensure that Supervisors and all other employees of Gusan Construction are informed of BNPP Safety Policies and EHS standards;

NEBOSH offer a comprehensive range of globally-recognised, vocationally-related qualifications designed to meet the health, safety, environmental and risk management needs for all places of work in both the private and public sectors. NEBOSH are a similar organisation to OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration commonly referred to as the American equivalent of NEBOSH. Although NEBOSH courses are considered to be of a higher calibre internationally and more readily accepted as the de facto standard for a company’s safety requirements.
Production engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology with management science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges related to production. The goal is to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most-judicious and most-economic way. Production engineering encompasses the application of castings,machining processing, joining processes, metal cutting & tool design, metrology, machine tools, machining systems, automation, jigs and fixtures, die and mould design, material science, design of automobile parts, and machine designing and manufacturing. Production engineering also overlaps substantially with manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering. The production engineer possesses a wide set of skills, competences and attitudes based on market and scientific knowledge. These abilities are fundamental for the performance of coordinating and integrating professionals of multidisciplinary teams.
Production Engineering is a branch of mechanical engineering that seeks to optimize production processes. During my studies, I excelled in my courses, coming out in As. My project was to develop a spark plug cleaning machine which was done successfully and graded as excellent. Upon graduation, I took to the field of occupational health and safety as a result of my passion for safety in the work place. I have worked with several companies both local and international and I have achieved certain international certifications in this regard.
