As a Technical Team Leader of the department of Database echnologies, I have the mandate to administer, manage and participate in the analysis, data modeling and the optimization of all the databases of every product in the company. I supervise eight developers and I have under my responsibility the development of two products of the whole suite of products.
The administration of the databases include:

I work on two types of systems:
A real time system that demands the continuous availability of data at all times with no downtime, extensive use of data replication in a distributed system, creation of a backup centre and disaster recovery plans.
A data warehouse system that demands massive data movements, search optimization, availability of data to produce all kind of statistical reports and the distribution of data and reports via web/intranet.
The above mentioned systems are developed using SQL Server 2000, Analysis Services 2000, VB, VB.NET et ASP.NET.

I developed a data warehouse system targeted at the hospital’s emergency room. I did all the analysis, design, data warehouse architecture and developed all the SQL queries. The system has been presented at the AHQ (Association of Hospitals of Québec) exposition this year. The system is to be deployed at 18 hospitals in February 2002. The data warehouse has been developed on a SQL Server 2000 database, and the front end is displayed as a dynamic pivot table in a browser.

Joined a team of programmers to develop a Human Resources application on a large scale. The first six month, I was responsible for replication and setting all changes in the database. Also I had a module to develop that represented 30% of the project.
The programming of the project was done in Visual Basic 5.0 Enterprise Edition, fully object oriented.
The replication was done using MS SQL Server 6.5 and a product called Data Transformation Server. The replication flow was the following:
AS/400 to a central SQL Server and then from the central server to 16 other locations in North-America.
