• Follows International Standards of Safety for patients
• Gives medications and IV Fluids as per the doctor’s order
• Extract blood sample
• Checks Vital Signs of patients
• Assists patients with scheduling acute or routine appointments
• Educates patients regarding abnormal test results and/or medical conditions.
• Utilizes appropriate physician consultation to work within the scope of practice.
• Assist with routine check-ups
• Administer vaccines, such as the HPV vaccines
• Assist with blood, urine and other samples
• Assist with pelvic exams or pap smear
• Assist new mother with breastfeeding
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Gives/receives endorsement to/from other unit/shift with the chart complete with data, treatment and procedures done on the patient and records in the logbook.
•Checks availability and prepares medicine, supplies, instruments and special equipment which vary according to needs of patient for daily procedures and possible emergencies ensuring they are intact, ready for use and functioning.
•Monitors, assesses and records vital signs and status of patients, and notifies attending physicians or residents-on-duty for any observed changes in the condition of patients.
•Identifies and assist patient needs to ensure comfort and relief.
•Administer prescribed medication/s and assist physician during treatments and examination of patient; takes note of and carries out physician’s order.
•Monitors and maintains proper documentation of patient laboratory requests; and medicines supplies received from patient watchers; and unit’s patient census.
•Performs head to toe assessment on the patient while having the procedure to ensure immediate response to patient’s complaints and detect abnormalities so immediate and appropriate action will be administered.
•Observes, monitors, records, and reports to physician significant symptoms, reactions and changes of the patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, and treatment and significant incidents to ensure immediate treatment and intervention.
