consecutive and written translation services. Nicosia, Cyprus.
I worked as a freelance consecutive translator for the EU missions that took place in the Northern part of Cyprus. My services provided translation as well as interpretation, from both Turkish to English and from English to Turkish throughout meetings and seminars that took place during these missions. Missions were carried out at places such as the Veterinary Department, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and various other official offices. The fruitfulness of the meetings depended very much so on the interpreter's disciplinary and social skills, and I believe most of my success was due to the fact that I was equipped with the necessary tools.

After graduating from Eastern Mediterranean University, I began teaching as an instructor of English Language at Cyprus International University. This gave me the grounding for communicative language teaching methods. I taught several classes at different levels and was responsible for preparing my own materials, writing and marking my own exams. I was also assisting on the service courses for faculty English which involved teaching students from different departments. I was able to experience a wider range of levels as well as creating a variety of ESP materials to suit their department. This involved detailed research in order to tailor the materials to suit their needs. I also worked as a lecturer in the ELT department and have taught faculty students of ELT. I was able to draw upon my knowledge of English and American Literature and critical theory for the Short Stories course. Having enjoyed working as a teacher, I decided to apply for an MA and have furthered my knowledge in this field.
