Roles and Responsibilities:
• Calculation of material and energy balance of ammonia plant for trouble shooting and approach to Equilibrium Temperature of catalysts to evaluate their performance.
• Rating and sizing of equipment’s with the help of engineering design software’s.
• Preparation of PFD’s, P&ID’s, and process equipment data sheets and their technical evaluation.
• Review and provide process input of all prospective and ongoing engineering projects.
• Review and check all engineering documents provided by vendors and contractors and provide guidance and clarifications.
• Monitoring of process parameters of following equipment’s:- Hydrotreater, Desulphrizers, Reformer, High Temperature Shift Converter, Low Temperature Shift Converter, Catacarb System, Methanator, Ammonia Converter etc.
• Carrying out inspection activities during plant downtime.


Achievements:
• Worked as a Team Leader for implementation of “DuPont” Process Safety Management System. My responsibilities were: - Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Incident Investigations, Task Risk Assessment and all activities which come under the heading of Management of Change (MOC).
• Reduced 1.5 MMSCFD Fuel Gas demand of Primary Reformer, by successful washing of primary reformer convection section tubes during annual turn-around.
• Reduced Primary reformer furnace HOTSPOTS temperatures from 1700oF to 1650oF with the help of optical pyrometer and manual adjustment of burners firing.
• Prepared Startup and Shutdown checklists to reduce equipment, machinery and reactors mishandling/damage.
• Successfully completed controlled oxidation of reduced Ammonia converter catalyst over a short period of one year.
