Doctorate, Embryology
  • at University of Leicester, UK
  • September 1988

My PhD was on embryonic nutrition using the in vitro culture of rat embryos. I established that embryos have the capability to handle macromolecules should the placenta be bypassed using the intravitelline cannulation technique. The technique which was developed and designed by me enabled the introduction of macromolecules (indigestable macromolecules (PVP) and digestible protein (bovine serum albumin) and IgG. I also established the by scanning and transmission electron microscopy the differences between embryonic arteries and veins.
