I joined a program callled CAL TEACH where I was placed in a random elemntary school in order to teach kids science and mathematics
I worked as an undergraduate researcher in a physical chemistry research laboratory
The purpose of my research project was to compare FT-IR spectrums of multiple amides when no hydrogen bonding is present. The amides differed in the number of methyl groups added. The research focused on three amide peaks in the FT-IR spectra, Amide A, Amide I, and Amide II. Those three peaks were then integrated for each amide in order to compare their areas.
I worked as a discussion leader where i did the exact samething as i did at Cypress College but I tought junior and senior courses and a larger number of students. The courses I held discussion sessions for were thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, inorganic chemistry, and statistics.
I worked as a private tutor for many years; most of the time I drove to people's houses where I tutored kids and adults science and math
Some of the courses i tutored were algebra, trig, statistics, calculus, and chemistry
I worked as a supplement Instructor for calculus I, general chemistry I, general chemistry II, organic chemistry I, organic chemistry II, Physics I, and physics II. I held my own sessions where I gave lectures, explain concepts, solved problems, and helped students by answering their questions and giving them problems to solve
My job as a lab technician was preparing chemical solutions for chemistry students to use in their lab courses
Moreover, I was in charge of training volunteers on how to preapre and deal with chemicals
I graduated from the University of California Irvine with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, specializing in physical and analytical chemistry. I graduated with honors and a 3.95 GPA on a scale of 4.00. I receieved the magna cum laude honors because I graduated first in the chemistry department for year 2011
