Prepare technical proposal for LV system, Package Substation and Transformers.
Responsibility includes the following:
1. Prepare technical and commercial proposals as per client requirement with respect to project execution plans, organization charts, bank guarantees, commercial and technical qualifications and prepare responses to the client post bid queries.
2. Preparing estimates at budgetary, design development, pre and post tendering stages.
3. Prepare a bid preparation schedule for submission of bids; identify people responsible for various activities within predetermined timelines, and a common understanding of the scope.
4. Attend periodic progress review meetings with the proposal preparation team and monitor progress of each activity. In addition, compile clarifications and requests to the client and share client feedback in terms of scope, additional information etc. with the team.
5. Co-ordinate with all the proposal team members to ensure completion of various activities on time, arrive at solutions for any unresolved issues. And ensure smooth flow of inter-disciplinary inputs through periodic discussions with the discipline engineers.
6. Follow-up with the procurement department for vendor offers and obtain vendor responses for the technical clarifications raised. Ensure generation of all deliverables by Engineering Disciplines as per Bid requirement (BOQs, Technical Documents to be attached to Bid, costing for various equipment and bulks etc).Shortlist and identify target vendors for various key equipment/ packages.
7. Obtain bid tabulations and cost estimates for various equipment and bulks from the procurement department and review the same to arrive at optimum costing. Assist in review of Construction offers received from various subcontractors and estimate cost for Project Support which includes Engineering, procurement Services, Office Facilities, Site Facilities, Travel, Expediting Costs, Inspection Costs, Vendor Rep Costs and other third party service costs.
8. Prepare and compile a Risk Register wherein various risk elements of the project are listed and update the risk mitigation strategy for each risk element in consultation with Proposals Manager and discipline engineers.
9. Review of project Schedule and cost estimates to be submitted along with Bid.
10. Familiar with ABB Low Voltage products.
• (Jan.13th 2007) (Feb. 12th 2011) working in Ian Banham and Associates (IBA) MEP Consulting Engineers (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing), as Electrical Design Engineer responsibility includes the following:
1. Low voltage distribution including L.V switchgears, standby diesel generator set, ATS panels, distribution panels, cabling, Busway system and various electrical accessories.
2. Lighting design and calculations including artificial lighting, emergency lighting and aircraft warning lights.
3. Earthing network design and lightning protection system.
4. Telephone and data communication systems including voice and data backbone infrastructure design, structured cabling system, patch panels…etc.
5. Designed the site services layout for electrical, telecom, firealarm and other low current systems including manholes, ducts, excavated trenches for directly buried cables…ets
6. Low current systems including central satellite receiving system, video/audio intercom, nurse call system, home automation system, servant call system, public address and background music system, audio visual communication system, building management system and programmable lighting control system.
7. Security systems including door access system, CCTV system, gate barrier system and intruder alarm system.
8. Fire alarm system including fire detection system, voice evacuation system, central battery emergency system, fire system interface with various building systems.
9. Prepare all technical specifications for all Low Voltage, Telecommunications, Low Current and Fire Alarm systems.
10. Familiar with obtaining department approvals and NOC’s.
The systems design requires a good knowledge of the local and international standards, as all systems to be designed in accordance with the local authority regulation in addition to the IEEE, CIBSE, EIA/TIA and NFPA international standards.
