Develop and champion business and operational excellence processes. Build teams and lab, develop R&D
proposals and contracts.
* Develop capacity & performance management processes, automate performance trend reports, define
proactive performance management plans, enhance data center performance.
* Enhance security in plants via introduction of new security standards and best practices, training material
development and delivery, and security product evaluation and pilot test at plants (gas plants, refineries)
* Develop strategic & operational R&D plans, manage R&D projects, build lab & competencies & R&D team.
Direct Computer Systems Engineering program with 10 direct reports. Teach and conduct research.
Led IBM Cell Center of Competence where parallel applications for oil and gas were developed (reservoir simulation, linear solvers, 3D data visualization, video and image processing)
* Won IBM’s highest research award (Cell supercomputer, Fedora Linux, SDK and service) which paved the way for the establishment of the IBM Cell Center of Competency in the College of IT. Directed IBM Center, R&D HPC projects and development of parallel oil/gas reservoir simulator, 3D data visualization
