Project: King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). The KAFD development is a $8 Billion (SAR 30 Billions), 1.6 Million M2 financial district, with nearly 70+ buildings and skyscrapers, an aquarium, a financial academy, 4 museums, a conference center, two spas, with 2 district cooling plants and four substations, with underground utilities' tunnels and subterranean roads. The development will be served by a monorail system with 6 stops around the development. The development is aiming for LEED Gold. Each individual tower is aiming for different LEED Certification levels (Platinum, Gold and Silver).
Duties: Work as Construction Managerr for the KAFD representing the project owner (Alrai’dah). I am assigned to mainly monitor a number of work packages in coordination with the project management team (Hill International). The packages are:
-Package C01B (KAFD Utilities Tunnels).
-Package C01C (Subterranean Roads, Bridges and Associated Underneath Utilities Tunnels).
-Package DB16 Zone1 (7 skyscrapers) with heights ranging from 11-62 floors. (Design-Build Contract).
- Office Fit-Out & FF&E Package.
- Package B11 - LEED Consultancy.

The monitoring of the above work packages includes the following tasks: - Conduct general construction reviews of the assigned project packages. - Produce periodic appraisal reports and presentations for executive management. - Monitor contractors and site supervision consultants' performance on site. - Monitoring the contractors works consist of reviewing: - Weekly progress and performance.
- QA/QC; - HSE; - Financial, contractual and variation orders.
In addition to the main tasks above, I have been the key member of a Due Diligence Committee, overseeing, coordinating and passing information of the entire project for a potential acquisition by another governmental body (the Public Investment Fund (PIF) plans to acquire the KAFD from the Public Pension Agency (PPA)).
Project: King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC). KAPSARC is aiming for LEED® Platinum certification, which is the highest green building rate offered and certified by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). I was responsible for all LEED requirements and activities for the finishes scope of work that requires:
- Reviewing, investigating, and managing all LEED requirements during the procurement and construction stages of the project in order to track LEED compliance and report to the GC and client (Saudi Aramco).
- Preparing LEED submittal forms and compliance sheets. - Generating LEED materials and calculation logs.
- Raising Technical Queries (TQ) and RFIs to the Architect for LEED discrepancies and clarification. - Managing construction activities at the job site, and maintain acceptable Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) limits for LEED compliance.
- Chaired coordinated meetings regarding LEED with other disciplines (MEP, Structural and Fit-out). I have provided training and presentations to the project team on LEED requirements periodically.
I was also involved in preparing variation orders and claims for additional quantities and specification changes due to design changes and differences between” Issued For Bid” contract documents (IFB), and “Issued for Construction” contract documents (IFC).

• Administering contracts and owner requirements.
• Reviewing submittals, RFIs, ASIs, and VE (Value Engineering) items with the design team.
• Overseeing subcontractors’ activities at the job site.
• Managing the project schedule.
• Reviewing and checking for compliance with the construction documents and LEED requirements.
Participated in:
Issuing shop drawings for Alqasr Development Project ($69.33 million-dollar residential and commercial complex).
Updating construction progress schedules weekly.
Inspecting sub-contractors’ work in the field.
Bidding process and analysis for additional building packages at the same project.
Heading Technical Office meetings and discussing drawings submittals status
Participated in:
- Qatar’s Business Bay Tower architectural design proposals process.
Participated in:
- Ministry of Health’s main building design proposals & user requirement
analysis.
- Developing the preliminary design for the Ministry of Health’s main building
design.
3.945 out of 4. I have done my internship with Clark Construction Group/Bell & Associate Joint Venture as the construction manager, in association with Harmony Construction Group. The project I worked on is registered for LEED Silver, under the USGBC v2 rating system.
The graduation project was the rehabilitation of The Supreme Commission of Tourism regional building, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. GPA: 3.31 out of 5
