Currently working as Finance Manager at IFFCO Chemicals FZE (manufacturers of industrial coating resins), an entity acquired in October 2014, my role encompasses the following:
• MIS and Business Performance analyses; ensuring Business health and P&L objectives
• Development of Business Unit Financial Budgets in consonance with the Corporate Strategy
• Conducting desktop feasibilities for the global expansion of the Chemicals vertical comprising of organic as well as inorganic growth
• Ensuring compliance with Financial and Cost Accounting Systems and Financial Policies of the Company
• Establishing adequate costing systems to determine product pricing and realizable margins
• Ensuring credit policies are complied with in respect of both receivables and payables and to this end manage the cash flow
• Inviting periodic audits of systems, accounting records and practices
• Ensuring adequate succession planning by designing and activating a staff career path in collaboration with the Unit HR
Key milestones in my current role:
• Turnaround of a loss making entity in the first 9 months of operation
• Managing cash flow efficiently during the first 4 months of operation in the absence of independent financing facilities
• Successful ERP transition within the first 3 months of operation
• Managing employee transition to IFFCO

Working as Manager - Finance & Planning for the „Dairy and Juices‟ segment of the business wherein my key responsibilities encompass the following:
Preparing and analyzing Monthly performance for onward reporting to the CFO, Management Committee, Holding Company (Engro Corporation) as well as the Board of Directors
Preparation of annual Corporate Business Plan and monthly outlooks
Preparation and management of Capital Expenditure Plans
Preparing financial models for investment opportunities as well as new product / SKU launches
Advising brand managers on the financial impact of price increases, cost restructuring etc.
Preparing project feasibility studies through various capital budgeting models
Representing the Finance Department on various business negotiation teams with an objective to secure commercial terms of arrangements
Preparation of the Company’s five year strategic plan via an interactive financial model
Reporting of monthly performance of the Company to the Managing Director and the CFO
Preparing presentations to be delivered at various forums including, but not limited to, Board of Directors, Public Accounts Committee, Senate Committees, Prime Minister & President of Pakistan
Ensuring completeness of special disclosures in the financial statements of the Company prepared in accordance with IFRS
Preparation of annual departmental revenue budgets in consultation with functional heads and subsequent consolidation of the same
Coordinating with PACRA with respect to the annual entity credit rating upgrade process
Coordinating with external auditors
Liaising with security research analysts, research organizations and brokerage houses with respect to financial and non-financial information about the Company
Review of the financial results of PSO's associated companies (on account of representation by PSO's MD and CFO on their Boards)
Drafting of the quarterly, half yearly and annual Reports to Shareholders on behalf of the Managing Director and Chairman of the Company
Drafting of press releases with respect to financial results of the Company
I was involved in varied special nature advisory engagements, statutory audits / reviews and validation of financial reporting packages of multinational concerns. My audit and advisory experience has exposed me to the complexities embedded within the practical implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards and best practices in respect of risk management and corporate governance. My key responsibilities included most aspects of engagement management from initiation to submission of final deliverables including but not limited to:
• scheduling and attending audit initiation and follow-up meetings;
• preparing and ensuring adherence to engagement budgets;
• liaising with clients on information and explanations required in respect of engagements;
• delegating work to subordinate staff members and subsequent review thereof; and
• performing core field work.
