Primary Responsibilities in this position:
• Router & Switches:
• Manage SSUET Core Network.
• Implementing security policies using ACL, Firewall, Under Supervision of Network Administrator.
• Dealt with monitoring tools like network packet capture tools like Wire-shark, etc.
• Performing security audits of perimeter routers, identifying missing ACL’s
• Troubleshooting of complex LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, Static Routing
• Implement and Manage WIFI LAN.
• Settings of the networking devices (Cisco Router, switches) co-coordinating with the system/Network administrator during implementation.
• Server Side:
• I supervised following:
• Inducting/Administering Network Operation Center (NOC) Servers.
• Secure campus wide domain login services.
• Internet services up to the last node on SSUET network.
• Overall Configuration/management of SSUET Local Area Network.
• File Services to share SSUET faculty members lectures and quizzes.
• Centralized printing and Logging/Accounting services for faculty and staff.
• End to end setup, installation & configuration of network.
• Desktop and Laptop setup, configuration and connectivity with main stream SSUET network.
• Setting up ad-hoc network when and where requirement arises e.g. Chancellor and VC Room and conference events.
• Video Conferencing system setup for online lectures and webinars.
• Complete infrastructure of Bio-metric Attendance System of SSUET.
• Responsible for safe and secure attendance data handling.
• Responsible for Managing CCTV Network Support.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• I have successfully trained several students of different faculties of Engineering for CCNA R & S Certification under CISCO Networking Academy platform (Sundays only).
Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Install or repair network cables.
• Provide telephone support related to networking or connectivity issues.
• Back up network data.
• Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
• Configure wide area network (WAN) routers and switches.
• Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and
equipment.
• Maintain logs of network activity.
• Train users in procedures related to network applications software or related systems.
• Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for users or user groups.
Additional Activities:
• Conduct several seminars arranged by CISCO Regional Office.
