SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to:
Maintain good understanding of MSF principles and patients’ admission criteria.
Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients/beneficiaries health conditions.
Identify patients who fit the Admission Criteria pertaining to the MSF-Amman Reconstructive Surgery Program (RSP).
Refer candidate patients who can be admitted to the RSP and ensure their medical follow-up after discharge.
Prepare patient medical files.
Follow-up with the patient’s recovery process after discharge from hospital.
Develop partnerships and collaborations with the main health stakeholders in the area of intervention.
Maintain proper and regular communication with health service providers.
Manage patients' flow prior to their arrival and admission, while overseeing their treatment process during their hospitalization.
Resolve any conflicts that would arise, and supervise patients’ discharge process, while co-ordinating with other departments inside the hospital, and with local governmental agencies to facilitate their safe return to their home countries.
Assign weekly and monthly tasks to the medical doctors and healthcare staff abroad in MSF's branches in Yemen, Iraq, and Gaza.
Take proper, focused history and do relevant physical examinations to general cases presented to our office.
Either treat accordingly at our office with Parenteral (IV + IM) Medication and/or prescribe home medications.
If the case needs specialist attention, we would refer to tertiary care centers.
Follow up with patients.
Main Responsibilities:
General Practitioner responsible for the supervision and day-to-day management of health activities pertaining to Syrian Refugees in refugee camps, including support to primary health care facilities, and mobile health services in Al-Za’atri camp and harder to reach areas in AL-Mafraq, Azraq, Ramtha, and Irbid.
Apply medical knowledge and skills to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment according to national guidelines and protocols, and ensure patient follow-up as needed.
Identify need for referral to secondary care and prepare the patient for referral including referral notes, pre-referral treatment and arrangement of transport.
Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control within and around the facilities.
Participate in outbreak response and control coordination when applicable and carry out community-based public health interventions during communicable disease outbreaks.
Collaborate with other relevant sectors such as Reproductive Health, Women Protection & Empowerment, Child Protection to ensure holistic service package is available in response to the needs.
Work Description:
Take focused medical + surgical orthopedic history from patients
Do concise physical examination
Examine X-rays, CT scans and MRIs
Present the case promptly to Dr. Sarhan
Offer treatment plans, and follow up with patients
Assist in surgical procedures (urgent and non-urgent).
Emergency Room Physician:
- Treat urgent and non-urgent cases
- Respond promptly to CPR cases
- Responsible for admission of cases that require prolonged and extensive medical and/or surgical attention.
- Directly Manage transfer of critically ill patients to and ESSRA' Hospital
- Directly manage patients transferred with Ambulances, and co-ordinate work between fellow physicians, nurses and paramedics.
Observe proper orthopedic history taking and focused physical examination, especially regarding pediatric cases.
Relevant suggestion of treatment plans, diagnostic methods and follow up with patients.
Go in rounds with specialists and:
- Take focused medical history
- Do relevant physical examination
- Follow up with patients
- Write down physician orders, treatment plans and progression notes coupled with proper logging in patients files, in the following departments:
1. Pediatrics
2. Internal Medicine
3. Surgery
4. Obstetrics and Gynecology
5. Emergency Medicine:
-Assist with minor surgical procedures
-Promptly diagnose and treat urgent cases
