Responsible for maintenance and support of databases all over plant and office domains including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and other open source databases.
Maintaining the availability of database instances based on defined Tier / SLA.
Maintain the database security and prevent unauthorized access to the databases in compliance with IT security policy.
Undertaking installations, upgrades, migrations and patch management of Databases.
Formulation and Administration of System Management procedures and standards.
Set up database clusters, backup, or recovery processes using Veeam Backup and Replication Tool and Netbackup and native SQL server backup and Oracle RMAN.
Install, configure and maintain databases including Always On Availability Groups and failover cluster instances implementations.
Troubleshooting skills on AlwaysOn errors and SQL failover cluster errors and on Daily DBA Duties.
Oversee and troubleshoots DB upgrade activities including the implementation of hotfixes and service packs.
Engage with Disaster recovery planning and conduct drills as per MOI standards.
Conduct administration activities - database health check, DMV queries, index optimization, performance tuning, query optimization, maintenance plans, link servers, etc. Use DMV to improve performance and monitoring.
Extensive use of Microsoft backup methodologies, their implementation via GUI as well as scripts. Setup and schedule backups, create and schedule jobs, alerts and operators using SQL Server Agent as well as database restores.
Support and Maintain Microsoft SQL Server licensing, Microsoft Analytics Platform System, MS Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments, SharePoint environment, Integration between SQL Server/SharePoint.
Use of extended events to capture the DDL events on the Database.
Query optimizing and Performance Tuning, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Proficient in using SQL Server tools such as Profiler, SSMS, SSCM, DMVs, SQL Audits

Monitor all plant wide Oracle database servers using scripts (Bash/Perl)

Provide Oracle Database administration service by following standard team processes.
Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products and recommend adoption.
Provide recommendations to developers to help in fine tuning the queries to improve performance.
Troubleshoot the database slowness issues and provide recommendations.
On operational perspective, responsibilities include troubleshooting problems, working on maintenance windows and providing 24x7 supports on a rotational basis.

Resizing / Adding datafiles to tablespaces.

Role: This project is implementation of various Oracle retail products like ORPOS, ORCO and ORBO. It comprises of Enterprise level application implementations of 900+ stores for all GCC countries (UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) 
Team is expected to convert/migrate (called as ‘Rollout’) the existing LANPOS application at Landmark stores to Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS) i.e. install, configure, migration of Oracle Point of service and provide post migration support for each of these rollouts.
Project was selected as Retail Middle East award finalist in 2013.
Responsibilities:
Working as technical consultant and Team Lead for implementation of Oracle Point of Service, Oracle Back office Application and Oracle Central Office Application (ORPOS, ORBO & ORCO)
Good experience in Oracle Installations and Oracle Database Upgrades.
Data migration from LANPOS to ORPOS using its utility.
Deployment of Customized functionalities on both POS and BO applications.
Providing Technical and functional Support for ORPOS Application on both ORPOS client and ORBO server.
Planning and execution for UAT testing and Rollout.  
Providing Onsite and offshore support to the client and resolving all ORPOS machine and ORBO server related issue.
Creating and maintaining the network services like LISTENER and TNS using manual and NETCA.
