• Reporting to Plant and Marine Manager and Superintendent
• Assisting Supervisor to inspect Marine equipment and machinery on Vessels (Tug boats, Barges & Speed Boats) in order to draw up requests and job specifications for maintenance works.
• Responsible for developing and controlling of a maintenance track record system under supervision of plant superintendent.
• Oversee fabrication and maintenance work carried out in the marine workshop. Tasks relating to fabrication of pontoons, marine equipment and repairs/services of engines, generators and additional equipment.
• Budgeting and Planning Equipment installation and general arrangement of equipment on vessels as per project requirements.
• Coordination with Company Projects for project requirements and Plant support.
• Act as liaison between ship captains and shore personnel to carry out scheduled inspections ensuring the on-board machinery and equipment are in compliance with Vessel Class.
• Prepare technical work completion reports for use by marine department and Management.
Obtaining and preparing quote comparison sheets from suppliers of or in relation to job requirements onboard vessels
* Reported to Managers of Design and Fabrication departments.
* Conducted a Time in Motion study for the switchgear assembly line while placed in the
Fabrication Department. Suggested ideas for improvements in order to increase
* Assigned to document and maintain manufacturing orders received by the company and forward
them to the design engineers while placed in the Design Department.
* Interned in the Architecture Department.
* This position reported to the department head.
* Familiarized myself with the architecture design softwares and the business processes in the
department
Projects and Achievements
* Remained a part of the principals honour roll (high academic achievers) for 5 consecutive years
during O and A levels
* Successfully completed various team projects during university including:
- Design and fabrication of a mini air compressor.
- Design and fabrication of a clutch.
- Control of a motor drive using a PIC microcontroller.
- Simulation and design of a robot arm performing industrial applications in MATLAB.
* Individual projects include:
- Software design of a variable-pitch propeller using Creo.
* Final Year Project:
- Design of a demand-side energy management system using Arduino.
- Project included a Control System for optimization of energy consumption by
controlling the outputs connected to the Arduino.
- Managed to formulate a Cost-Effective method of saving and reducing energy usage.
