Commenced career as a GSM Validation Engineer for Piconode Verification (Mini-GSM Network). Work involved understanding individual components of a GSM Network (BSC/BTS/MSC), their inter-working, and designing test plans. Worked with DMS (Nortel's proprietary HLR switch). Was an integral part of a successful Piconode Service Introduction in London for BTCellNet as On-site engineer.

Promoted to GPRS Service Introduction. Learned individual components/technologies/protocols of the Core network (SGSN/GGSN/SIG). Assigned as a Lead for ‘Preside’ - Operations And Maintenance (OAM) - side of the network. This involved reviewing specifications, requirements, and design roles for individual OAM Components (OMC-D, CGF, PPS, MDP/PPR) ranging from Network Operations and Maintenance, Billing, IP related Services (DNS/DHCP), Performance Reporting (SNMP). Acquired thorough knowledge of quality assurance, configuration and maintenance of these elements and their inter-working.
