Oversee the construction of a 412 key 50 story Hotel in the new downtown of Amman. This includes managing all stakeholders on the Project, monitoring the progress of works and updating the project budget to reflect the anticipated cost to complete.
Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
•Prepare detailed monthly reports and weekly flash reports on all project parameters
•Conduct and lead weekly progress and technical meetings between contractor and engineer to discuss and resolve matters such as construction progress, quality and site issues
•Establish and monitor appropriate channels of communication and distribution of information and documentation between the various project entities to enable all parties to carry out their duties in a timely manner
•Monitor the performance of the Contractor, A/E and other consultants supervising the construction of the works to ensure their conformance to the terms of engagement as per contract documents
•Assist the Planning Engineer in updating the work progress against the program and technically analyzing delay claims submitted by the Contractor
•Review and advise the Owner in respect of all claims and advise of the action to be taken including options available to mitigate delays and/or additional costs
•Protect and maintain the rights of the Owner under the terms of the construction contract by anticipating potential contractual disputes and advising on appropriate action
•Assist the Cost Control Engineer in assessing variations, certifying contractor and engineer’s monthly payment certificates and updating the project budget
•Perform pre-qualification exercise for potential bidders, manage the bidding process, review and evaluate contractor pricing and qualifications
•Prepare and issue RFPs for bid package tendering, evaluate proposals and issue recommendation to the Client on package award
Provided construction management services for a 3000 ton/pd cement plant in Al-Qatrana.
Duties and tasks included but were not limited to the following:
•Oversaw and tracked progress of all mechanical and steel structure erection activities
•Monitored progress and quality of the plant piping works
•Managed and supervised the entire air conditioning works for the plant, including approving check requests, certifying contractor’s payments, monitoring the testing and commissioning and arranging for the final handover of the works to the Owner
•Reported delays in the project and explored viable options to make for loss time
•Procured various scope items and evaluated submitted packages
•Reviewed and analyzed contracts to prepare determinations on disputed scope
•Prepared monthly productivity and cost reports to monitor overall project progress
•Monitored and reported on quality control issues for civil and mechanical works
Estimating/Preconstruction
•Performed quantity take-offs, estimates and pricing for all trades and project types including but not limited to the following: residential, commercial/retail, healthcare, transportation, education and green building
•Read and interpreted contract documents and other information provided for pricing
•Solicited subcontractor bids and performed scoping, coordination and evaluation of multimillion dollar bid packages
•Prepared mechanical, electrical and plumbing budgets in the preconstruction phase using incomplete design development drawings
•Attended Owner/Architect/Subcontractor design team meetings and offered feedback on budgeting information, material availability and design viability
•Provided the project team with comparative cost analysis, value engineering and scheduling information including the sequencing and logical execution of the works
•Worked with the procurement department to prepare exhibits detailing and coordinating subcontractors’ scope of work
Washington Dulles International Airport / Automated People Mover and Stations Project
•Reviewed and processed submittals, RFIs and shop drawings
•Prepared and assisted in negotiating change orders/design changes to the contract
•Assisted in labor tracking and productivity analysis for jobsite
•Attended weekly progress and technical meetings, and prepared the meeting minutes
Internship at the Pentagon Renovation Project, Arlington VA
•Worked with the Quality Control group to monitor and close punch lists
•Checked for all mechanical systems in shafts, and called in for inspections
•Attended tenant fit out meetings and assisted in the design analysis
