• Issue RFQs, negotiate favourable terms with vendors and recommend comparison-based supply awards

• Prepare technical evaluation transmittals and client in-house approvals to evaluate and qualify vendors

• Manage the flow of prequalification documents between supplier and project to obtain client approval

• Create order terms and conditions and issue approved orders and supporting documents to suppliers

• Manage company-wide scrap sales as well as the vendor managed inventory agreement

Key Achievements:

• Established a direct supply agreement with approved GI coil manufacturer to eliminate the middleman and immediately save USD $250, 000 and forecasted savings of USD $4, 000, 000 over the next four years

• Restructured procurement workflow of a company subsidiary saving USD $400, 000 in the first year

• Identified a flaw in steel procurement process and resolved it using knowledge of engineering code; created and submitted a case study report to management, presented the findings to them and educated buyers on the necessary corrective action and lessons learned

• Introduced a new company procedure that optimized processing of payments received from scrap buyers

• Reduced paper waste and enhanced data accessibility by electronically replacing the existing filing system

• Requested draftsmen to create fabrication drawings and generated bill of materials from the drawings

• Provided direction to ensure drawings’ accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards

• Prepared outgoing Interdisciplinary Check (IDC) documents to ensure that first revision of drawings are complimented with welding tables and other relevant QA/QC and production comments before issuing them for fabrication

• Studied client’s standard pipe support and material specifications and engineering purchase requirements

• Analyzed client’s MTO and discovered missing information that resulted in a change order to the contract

• Reduced spending by convincing client to use in-stock materials of equivalent ASME alternative to their specifications

• Assisted planning engineers in creating estimation reports by calculating pipe supports’ areas and weights

• Attended weekly meetings to settle technical and commercial disputes and update client on work flow
