As the manager of the IT unit at Department of Audit was responsible for all the security issues and had the designation of the Department Security Officer. In that capacity negotiated all the security contracts with Cisco and SecureWorks vendors and ensured that all contracts met the high security threshold of the department and also complied with State of Wyoming and federal laws. Developed security policies and procedures for the department that were in line with the federal standards. The Department received the highest score for security from the IRS and the FDIC after their audits. Prepared, reviewed and finalized the budget estimates for departmental hardware and software. Developed and administered the budget for the IT sections. Coordinated with the Divisions' administrators on IT issues. Prepared the development of a strategic plan for the information technology unit. Oversaw the development of procedures for detecting, reporting, and responding to security incidents using SecureWorks.
