• Supporting the development of the strategy for the consolidation of the National Networks and their participation in the programme of the Foundation
• Supporting defining the specific objectives, drafting the related concept notes, work plans and budgets for the projects and activities assigned;
• Supervising the overall implementation of the funding schemes designed for the financial support of the ALF Networks from launching the schemes to award notification, to contracting, followed by monitoring and technical and financial reporting and lastly closure;
• Acting as a Focal Point to the assigned National Networks, in the framework of the internal focal point system applied by the unit, contributing to social analyses, technical assistance and regular reporting;
• Carrying out missions to National Networks, representing the Foundation in designated meetings and events related to the ALF Networks, and reporting about them;
• Assessing project proposals, participating in evaluation committees and elaborating technical progress reports in the framework of ALF Funding schemes and grants;
• In coordination with the Monitoring & Evaluation team, ensuring the systematic compliance of information and reports to assess result an impact of the Networks, and contributing to the reporting exercise and analysis of the required reports;
• In the framework of the Activity Management Cycle of the Foundation, ensuring the correct and timely development and implementation of the activities assigned. Following up with the previous service providers and updating the related administrative tools in close collaboration with the Administration and Finance Unit. Contributing to the selection of participants to be involved in activities and assisting in the process;

 Regular scanning of EuropeAid/ European Commission’s Delegation to Egypt as well as other European Commission websites in order to locate relevant open and forecast calls for proposals.
 Verifying whether any of the open or forecast calls cover the Bibliotheca Alexandria’s current projects and priorities for funding.
 Writing up project proposals as per the guidelines set by the European Commission
 Filling out European Commission application forms.
 Carrying out online, email, courier submissions to the European Commission as per their own rules.
 Establishing communication and dialogue with the Delegation to the European Union here in Egypt.
 Writing promotional material (e.g. organization profiles) to better promote the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in the European Community and increase its chances of participation in European funded projects.
