Key projects & project management:
• Projects range from small to medium scale, with one up to four team members with the team leader/project manager, going through the phases, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling. The beauty of following the standard approach even with small projects is that it eliminates any surprises or unexpected delay in the project workflow and lays all the steps in line and in harmony, confirming on the importance of documentation for future reference and a good use of the database
Modality Project Leader:
1. Sabah Hospital file server (Image Vault) installed and upgraded the server with data migration to the new 5.0.1 version; Implemented on an IBM server with NAS environment on Windows server 2008 utilizing RAID 6. Initiation, planning and design phases were started with the collection of requirements and workflow, followed by the execution starting with cloning and data migration, then installing the new software on the new system. Monitoring and controlling were performed with the onset of the new system on the network and testing
2. Safat American Hospital; installed and operated eleven various-specialty ultrasounds with three team members, ranging from echocardiography, obstetrics/gynecology and general imaging. Initiation, planning and design phases were started with the collection of requirements of the workplace and customer, network configurations and workflow design to be in parallel between team members. Monitoring, controlling and testing were performed on spot during onset, in cooperation with network administrators and RIS/PACS engineers
3. Maternity Hospital; installed and operated outpatient department, new radiology section and Al Batoul center, eight OB/Gyn top of the line Voluson E8 machines, with two team members.
4. Sabah Al Ahmad Cardiac Center (SACC); implemented cardiac ultrasounds & reviewing workstations, three Vivid E9 machines & Echopac PC Project phases were going through same criteria; monitoring controlling and testing were quite different due to the review station limitations
5. Chest Hospital; Upgraded and installed two Image Vault file servers on HP servers with NAS environment, implemented on windows 2003 server, to the timely state of the art 4.3 version. All phases were quite identical to the turnkey upgrade of the ImageVault server
Modality Project Member:
1. Ibn Sina Hospital Gamma Knife: installation and operation of the system with its gantry, operator console and (Gamma Plan) planning workstation. In addition to setting up all image acquisition configurations, implemented on linux
