1. Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office.
2. Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office.
3. Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
4. Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
5. Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
6. Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
7. Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges).

Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing.

2.Collect payments from customers.
3.Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
4.Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
5.Take orders from patrons for food or beverages.
6.Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
7.Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
8.Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
9.Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining.
10.Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for patrons, and chill bottles of wine.
11.Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
12.Inform customers of daily specials.
13.Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
14.Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
