Queen International school is a multicultural International day school offering American/British National Curriculum. I am a Grade 7 Biology and Chemistry Teacher and grade 4 Science tutor; I plan, teach, assess and keep records of student progress in class.
St. Christopher’s is a multicultural Christian International day and boarding school offering British National Curriculum. I am a KS2 Teacher and Year 6 Form Tutor; I teach Literacy, Science and Mathematics in Year 6 and Science both Year 5 streams, Year 3 and Mathematics in Year 4. I’ve also been serving as a Supply Chemistry Teacher for Years 10 to 12 (IGCSE and AS) at the Secondary section of the school. POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY: Head of Science-I am in charge of coordinating and overseeing planning, teaching, assessment of Science of Science as a subject in both KS1 and KS2.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: International Child safeguarding Course 2015(SAFEchildUK)
I was working in this multi-cultural, IAPS accredited, CIS candidate school. My job included assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of the head teacher, SENCO, and class teachers. I assisted in the implementation of individualized education programs for student and help monitor their progress, provided support for individual students inside and outside classroom to enable them fully participate in activities, assist class teachers in maintaining class records, support pupils with emotional and behavioral problems to enable them develop social skills, provide support to children with mathematics, reading and writing difficulties on an individual, class or small group basis, giving extra help to children from ethnic minorities or those with special needs, help develop learning activities and adapting appropriate materials. To keep updated on the current trends in planning, I participated in the recent INSET-IMPROVING LITERACY PLANNING, facilitated by Mr. Kaleem Raj, the Academic Deputy Head teacher/ literacy teacher and Mr. Simon Amora, Head of Upper School Literacy, Braeburn School.
My main tasks during this period included teaching Biology and Chemistry in various classes, including KCSE candidates, planning and carrying out science practical lessons with the students, setting, administering and marking continuous assessment test and end term examinations for the students as well as writing end of term subject reports for my students among others. During this period, I also held the position of the Deputy Headteacher in which I assisted in school administration responsibilities as well as maintaining student discipline.
