I was working in this multi-cultural, IAPS accredited, CIS candidate school. My job included assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of the head teacher, SENCO, and class teachers. I assisted in the implementation of individualized education programs for student and help monitor their progress, provided support for individual students inside and outside classroom to enable them fully participate in activities, assist class teachers in maintaining class records, support pupils with emotional and behavioral problems to enable them develop social skills, provide support to children with mathematics, reading and writing difficulties on an individual, class or small group basis, giving extra help to children from ethnic minorities or those with special needs, help develop learning activities and adapting appropriate materials. To keep updated on the current trends in planning, I participated in the recent INSET-IMPROVING LITERACY PLANNING, facilitated by Mr. Kaleem Raj, the Academic Deputy Head teacher/ literacy teacher and Mr. Simon Amora, Head of Upper School Literacy, Braeburn School.
