• Team member of the Advocacy Energy Team (specializing in Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Electricity) which conducts Impact Assessments on impact of Commission’s work in energy sector.
• Investigate, analyse and research complaints in contravention of various sections of the Competition Act such as market conduct, abuse of dominance and cartel conduct.
• Conduct training and presentations to stakeholders, SOCs, Big Businesses and other government institutions various sections of the Competition Act.
• Supervise and oversee the work of cadets/ graduate trainees.
• Review Mergers and Acquisition decisions to understand effects on ongoing cases
• Draft policy responses and commentary on the possible effects of bills and policies on competition.
• Manage stakeholders, engage with parties to a complaint, providing legal advice and assistance on case trajectory and timelines.
• Compile, review, and present case reports to middle and executive management.
• Project management, including preparing concept notes and project material such as presentation slides or information pamphlets/ publications. Occasional event venue set up and conference admin.
• Execution of the Division’s strategy and organizational goals.
• Investigating and assessing the merits of claims to make offers to claimants.
• Negotiate and draft settlements on merits with attorneys/legal practitioners.
• Review and analyse submissions and determine if further submissions are required.
• Coordinate administrative legal actions to ensure compliance.
• Knowledge management by insuring effective and efficient recording of all cases on intranet.
• Collect and collate outstanding documents and brief internal panel attorney.
• Daily reporting to Team Lead on case tasks, performance statistics and completion timelines.
• Liaison with various key members in the claims process such as police and medical experts
• Drafting summons, pleas, contracts, and legal opinions.
• Consultation with Clients and witnesses.
• Legal Research, Civil Litigation and Legal Writing
• Conducting Forensic Investigations on behalf of state-owned entities and various government ministries such as the National Lotteries Commission, the Department of Education, the National Arts Council, the Air Traffic and Navigation Services and others.
• Conducting Research on various case subjects, preparing executive summary for investigation/ litigation teams.
• Third Party Claims/ RAF litigation

• Legal Representative for accused in Criminal Litigation including bail applications and trials.

• Daily Court Appearance in Mamelodi Magistrates Court including making 342A Applications
