Master Plan 2030
1. Synthesize Geographic Data: Gather and integrate a variety of geographic data
sources, including census information, field observations, satellite imagery, and
existing maps, within the GIS section of the Royal Commission.
2. Data Management and Database Development: Regularly update and
maintain geospatial datasets for the Royal Commission, contributing to the
development of a comprehensive new database for land use as part of the
Master Plan 2030 initiative.
3. Cartographic Design for Planning: Utilize GIS software and related
technologies to generate detailed maps and graphical representations for master
planning efforts, covering key data sets such as utilities, transportation
networks, land use, irrigation systems, flood zones, and water channels.
4. Spatial Analysis for Land-Use Optimization: Collect and analyze spatial data
to assess the most suitable land-use options for residential development,
considering essential factors such as proximity to services, schools, and
community amenities.
5. Population Distribution Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of population
distribution patterns to identify solutions for urban overcrowding, such as
recommending new road infrastructure or transportation routes.
6. Collaboration with CAD and Technical Teams: Work closely with CAD
drafters and technical staff to ensure seamless integration of GIS data with
architectural and engineering designs.
7. Geographic Statistical Analysis: Analyze spatial data to derive meaningful
geographic statistics for inclusion in comprehensive reports and official
documentation.
8. Land Use and Environmental Compatibility: Conduct analysis to ensure that
land-use planning effectively avoids conflicts with critical environmental
features, such as water channels.
9. Data Entry and Cartographic Principles: Accurately input new map data
using digitizers and coordinate systems, applying cartographic principles such
as latitude/longitude, elevation, topography, and map scaling.
10. Geospatial Data Relationship Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of spatial
relationships between diverse datasets to inform strategic decision-making.
11. GIS System Maintenance: Operate and maintain GIS system hardware,
software, and associated peripherals, including plotters, digitizers, and color
printers, ensuring optimal system functionality.
