to MEP utility construction and quality assurance of installations which include
leading, directing and monitoring a group of engineers, coordination with all
contractors and dealing with technical/ legal experts pertaining to matters related to
technical issues, potential variations and arbitration related matters. In addition to
design review of drawings and other documents, I am also responsible for project
handover related matters such as coordinating with client for snagging, review and
ensuring quality of project hand over documents such as O&M manual, project
dossiers, etc. Further I have experience in the procedures and requirements of real
estate properties compliance certification and facility management (FM) and my
leadership and technical skills, comprehensive knowledge of my profession and my
creative abilities, fully justify my senior technical position in our company.
My role as an ARE involves coordinating with all site MEP engineers for inspections, follow-up of outstanding
mechanical services installations, monitoring of installation progress, ensure quality of installations, ensure
compliance of material delivery, etc. In addition I am responsible for the review of mechanical drawings, reports,
method statements, O&M manuals, project dossiers, etc., coordinate with contractors for site related installation
issues, attend meetings with contractors, monitor RFIT logs, review third party audit reports, witnessing and
coordination of testing and commissioning of various mechanical systems and equipment’s such as but not limited
to Chillers, AHUs, Heat Exchangers (ETS), Boilers, Clarifiers, etc. and systems such as chilled water, air
distribution, domestic water supply, fire protection, steam and LPG system, etc. Moreover, I am responsible to
coordinate with contractors and client team for system hand over formalities such as snagging, ensure compliance
with Qatar Civil Defense Department (QCDD) comments and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) expert’s comments.
I am also responsible for the review of matters related to potential variations and issues of mutual conflict with
contractors and arbitrations.
During my tenure as a Site Mechanical Engineer in SMRC, multi-billion ultramodern, all-digital academic medical
center which will set new standards in patient care for women and children in Qatar, the Gulf region and
internationally, I acted as a key site representative responsible for the inspection of all mechanical services
installations such as HVAC (Duct works, CHW Pipe works, Steam), Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, Medical
Gas (MGPS), LPG and Fuel Oil installations, etc. In addition to inspection and review of materials delivered to site,
I was responsible for the review of design (IFC) drawings to ensure compliance with the project and code
requirements and coordination with all other disciplines, ensure that the service installations are as per the relevant
drawings, codes, specifications and relevant standards and liaise between the contractor and related KEO
departments regarding the service installation issues at site, monitor the works, issue SDR & NCN for non-
conformity works and prepare progress reports.
During my tenure in the Sidra Medical & Research Center (SMRC) project, I have involved in the following
buildings and infrastructure construction works:
Hospital Building (HB)
Out Patient Clinic Building (OPC)
Central Services Building (CSB)
Multi-Level Car Park Building (MLCP)
Underground Water tank (UGWT) & Underground Car Park (UGCP)
Site wide infrastructure works involving utilities like Fire mains / Hydrants, Sewage lines, Irrigation water lines,
surface water lines, etc.
I have worked on a land mark museum project (MOIA) in Qatar and a prestigious hotel (Al Bustan Palace) project
in Oman. My primary responsibilities included the review of mechanical design drawings and specifications and
preparation of shop drawings with a group of draftsmen and rectify problems through RFIs, review of material and
equipment submittals and ensure that it is in conformance with the project specifications and related codes &
standards, preparation of shop drawings for mech. services especially HVAC involving Centralized AC systems
with water cooled condensers, Package Units, Split Units, design of piping layouts and equipment orientations for
chilled water, condenser water, fire protection systems, etc., heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing,
preparation of MEP coordination drawings involving HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, Drainage and electrical
services, attending the meetings with the consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers, technical correspondence,
preparation of HVAC testing and commissioning reports, preparation of O & M manual, etc. I was also involved in
the tender preparation for SMRC during my period in Mercury Engineering.
I was the in-charge of Elevator Division of Zahra Technology Qatar office. His responsibilities included design and
proposing the system, dealing with the principals, technical support, meeting with clients and follow up, schedule
the works and schedule material delivery, supervise installation works, control & ensure periodic maintenance and
reporting to the Branch Manager. I had made a good business when the branch opened in Qatar competing with
