• Provide 24/7 technical support through email, chat and phone to clients in high risk areas such as Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and parts of Africa.
• Fleet management, monitoring and assisting deployed engineers for troubleshooting.
• Deployment to high risk country for installation and commissioning on various GPS trackers, IVMS devices, Motorola radios and VSAT.
• Performs research and development task such as
Assists in concept development and participating in the design analysis of IVMS.
Creates technical product manuals/ guidelines and contribute data/analysis/design for use in technical reports, documents, proposals, or oral/written presentations.
Conduct laboratory simulation and actual road/field test, to evaluate and improve technical propositions on basis of research findings and experiences of others researching in related technical areas.
Identify technical solutions to given problems both internal and client-based.
Conducts troubleshooting, testing and repair on RMA devices
• Performs hardware installations, turn up and test, labeling for various Ciena Equipment (CN4200, CN5430, CN6500, Core Director, CPL)
• Installs cable ladder, fiber trucking ODF, DCN etc. as needed in projects
• Performs Equipment commissioning, testing, integration for different Ciena Equipment
• Raises Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) if there’s faulty modules
• Creates Red Line/ As Built documents report after installation & commissioning
• Creates list of Installation Required Materials (IRMs) based on IDP
• Conducts site survey and send reports in preparation for Ciena project
• Conducts in-station suit testing base on the requirement needed by the operator
• Conducts troubleshooting in various faults such as no terminal and facility loop back, SSU synchronization faults with the help of Ciena Support
• Provides daily progress report to Project Manager
• Set up Management station for NOC
• Attends conference call meeting for discussion of projects
• Conducts sites survey in all Etisalat’s exchange in Northern Emirates in preparation for a new project.
• Creates floor plan via GeoMap and requests for approval by uploading on live link.
• Requests power supply for a certain project from power plant section.
• Creates requisition of materials using Oracle system that will be needed in certain project and withdrawing the same at Etisalat’s Store.
• Updates the budget particulars after the requisition of materials.
• Creates cable trays and ducting to generate conduit for fiber optics and Ethernet cables and laying the same from equipment side to ODF and EDF.
• Conducts testing of fiber link using power meter and OTDR.
• Hardware installation several equipment such as Erricson, Huawei, Alcatel.
• Supervises contractors (Ex. Huawei, Alcatel Lucent, Ciena) on various projects.
• Operates and maintains all the facilities of assigned unit such as Main Switching Units, Remote Switching Units, Remote Subscriber Switch and Relay Station within the operation cluster in accordance and guidelines of the company.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance of power, transmission, switching and RNOC equipment based on established performance standards.
• Identifies and rectifies any existing problem encountered during preventive maintenance.
• Performs troubleshooting and repairs all facilities of the assigned unit.
• Reports any deficiencies in the equipment to the operation and maintenance head especially those requires the assistance from operation support.
• Attends alarms and restoration of faults frequently in accordance existing service level standards.
• Performs software configuration and Hardware installation for commissioning of DSLAMs (Huawei, ZTE, Fastmux).
• Creates daily report on DSLMs port and bandwidth optimization.
• Performs bandwidth configuration and port activation using Regional Network Operation Center (RNOC) Network Management Service (NMS) and Integrated Customer Management Service (ICMS).
• Testing of Integrated circuits
• Conducts research and studies for development of new Integrated Circuits
• Supervises operators on loading process of new Integrated Circuits
• Performs regular check up on IC Tester
• Performs basic troubleshooting and repair on IC Tester
• Performs tester configuration base on the testing requirements of certain IC
• Creates daily, weekly, monthly report on IC inventory
