• To provide emergency care for sick and injured personnel at site.
• To provide routine care of non-emergency patients at site.
• To fulfill and occupational health role at site.
• Personally responsible for own safety and conducting one’s self to the standards of Nabors Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain the clinic, safely store and replenish medical supplies.
• Maintain relevant medical protocols at site.
• Provide first aid response to minor injuries.
• Provide stabilization and pre-hospital emergency care for medevac cases and liaise with medical specialists as required.
• Participate actively in safety program, particularly with regard to promoting personal health and fitness issues.
• Be available for safety orientations for new personnel arriving at site
• Monitor occupational health performance.
• Participate in emergency drills and respond to incipient or actual emergencies.
• Conduct regular inspections of camp facilities and report on hygiene and related issues.
• Conduct routine tests on potable water quality and advice Rig Manager of any trends in medical cases which could indicate food, water or air quality problems.
• Keep records of all medical treatment undertaken on site.
• In charge of the Emergency Department with supervisory function.
• Performs general supervision and overall management of the nursing care service through mentoring and monitoring of the nursing staff and nursing students affiliates.
• Assists in the development of applicable policies, procedures and standards in the unit.
• Analyses and determines staffing needs in the unit.
• Assumes command responsibility for the nursing staff.
• Delegates to subordinates and give assignments.
• Conduct health education activities for the Emergency department.
• Carries out or transcribes doctor’s order.
• Evaluate performance of personnel, recommends personnel actions such as disciplinary action and promotion.
• Conduct monthly inventory of properties, equipment, E-cart medicines and supplies.
• Prepares and submits reports such untoward incidents or problems, projects or assignments.
• Check and monitor log books for complete records.
• Participate in regular or emergency meeting.
• Perform direct and immediate patient care and services to the patient.
• Attends to emergency needs and work as a member of emergency response team (code blue team).
• Obtaining vital signs, nursing history, performs physical assessment and review their medical status.
• Detects abnormalities from assessment and results of diagnostic exam and report to the physician.
• Assist Physician with minor procedures and physical examination of patient.
• Prepare and administer medication, Oxygen, and IV fluids safely.
• Perform ECG and extract blood samples for laboratory.
• Ensure the quality of emergency nursing care to patient.
• Assist the Head nurse in guiding, providing orientation and training to new staff.
• Check and maintain equipment’s, instruments, medicines and supplies, linens, and ambulance supplies.
• Provide care of patient with Burns, respiratory emergencies, trauma, gastrointestinal problem, cardiovascular problem, renal problem and in shock.
• Conduct Neuro assessment, monitor neuro vital signs and use of Glascow Coma scale.
• Assist in the implementation of hospital policies and regulations.
• Prepares and submit monthly reports.
• Participates in research studies.
• Responsible for the direct nursing care, services and assists physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in order to provide patient care.
• Received and endorses patient charts, equipment’s, medicines, and supplies.
• Obtaining vital signs, nursing history and conduct physical examination to patient.
• Demonstrate the proper use of ER equipment’s, knowledge of emergency medicines, taking care of the wounds, and performing basic nursing procedure base on patient need e.g. Urinary catheterization, enema, NGT feeding, NGT lavage.
• Establish nursing diagnosis, Prioritizes needs, problems of patients, and Formulate Nursing Care Plan
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment.
• Administer Oxygen, insert IV Fluids safely.
• Assists Physician for minor and major surgery.
• Provides health teachings to patient.
• Notifies immediate superiors of unusual, untoward, difficult situations/conditions.
• Identifies and attends to emergency needs of patient.
• Implement hospital regulation and policies.
• Updates and completes records like chart, log books, and etc.
