Prepare food in a fast and efficient manner. Assist the main chef and other chefs and cooks in the kitchen and be asked to complete whatever tasks the superior chefs ask of him in a fast manner.
Supports the executive chef, sous chef, line chefs as well as other kitchen employees in food production
Assists kitchen staff in maintaining high cuisine standards for function clients as well as delegates
Assists the line chefs in the production of different foods for example vegetables, meats and pastries
Assists the head chef in ensuring that food is prepared and served to the clients on time
Assists the executive chef in ensuring that health and safety standards are upheld in the kitchen
Helps the executive chef in the development of menus
Assists other junior kitchen staff in ensuring that the restaurant is keep clean at all times
Assists the head chef in making requisitions for food
Assisting the head chef in preparing menus
Cleaning and maintenance of the cooking zone
Cleaning and maintenance of cooking equipment like pots, pans, refrigerator and ovens
Prepares cooking ingredients for use in the dishes

Take over the responsibilities of the head chef in his absence
The main duty of a waiter is to take orders and serve food and beverages to customers
They welcome the customers and escort them to the table
They take down the customer’s order and then enter that in the computer which helps in billing later
They pass on the order to the chefs in the kitchen and make sure that the food reaches the right table
They also recommend the wine and other drinks to the customers
They suggest names of dishes to the customers and helps them decide which dishes may be combined
They garnish the items and need to check if the food has been presented well before serving it
Before and after every meal, they prepare the table, put new linen, set up flowers and cutlery
They take feedback from the customers about the food and check if the latter needs anything
They bring the bill to the customers
