In March 2016; foundation activities related to NSDI have been achieved; mainly those
task where I was intensively involved; like governance structure foundation.
Standardization concept and SDI technical working groups charts and composition;
MGDB - master GIS database logical design; Start up (Qwins) applications _geo-
platform; mobility applications; I become fully dedicated to develop the geospatial
capacity of our companies JAL and GeoSmart as a CEO/CTO and as a GIS SME.
* Jal Technology is an Omani private company working in the GIS and geospatial solutions
and consultancy services has a strong presence in Oman working with Geospatial clients
from NSDI/NCSI to utilities companies (MCD; Majan) and Oil & Gas sector
* GeoSmart Technology is also an Omani company working in the geospatial and mainly in
providing satellite imageries and DEM, DSM TerraSARx from Airbus intelligence as an
authorized AirBus DS images

In 2014 The Sultanate of Oman undertook the initiative to establish a National Spatial
Data Infrastructure (ONSDI) to overcome the various issues blocking the usage of the
geospatial data in the country and regulates the Geospatial data and information in
Oman, this task was assigned to National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
* Jal Technology is an Omani private company working in the GIS and geospatial solutions
and consultancy was awarded the public tender issued by NCSI to provide consultancy
through expert & pro level HR, Myself who was acting CEO for JAL Technology and GIS
Expert has been asked to lead this team of 10 persons and provide the expertise
covering all the domains related to SDI and GIS.

Geospatial data Expert,

Brief of the employer:
MoNE is the authorized body who has the role (among others) to formulate proposals
for the development strategy, collect and publish the different Statistics, Surveys,
Census, formulate a national information plan and create economic, social and
geographical information integrated network Database so as to serve the various
development interests and goals in the country.
Key Responsibility:
* Provides professional advice to other departments in MoNE to clarify geo-processing
and GIS analysis requirements.
* Schedule updates of existing databases, including costing and budgeting.
* Ensures the establishment and ongoing maintenance of the GIS database utilizing
computer hardware and software.
* Identifies the risk contingency factors.
* Conducts and attends all related meetings, presentations related to the unit
performance and technical engagements.
* Sets up and develops the division's expansion, training and recruitment plans for the
upper management approvals and action.
* Establishes and maintains effective relationships with subordinates and other
interdepartmental and external contacts.
* Provides professional consulting services to departments to conceptualize and analyse
user needs, develop practical systems, and determine essential resources.
* Setting up the required technical plan for developing GIS Enterprise environment in
MoNE, based on users workflow and their geospatial needs study and analysis.
* Building Geospatial GIS decision-making support systems integrated with the MoNE
business process through a complete and integrated, centrally managed and focused
server-based GIS applications scaled and fit to support MoNE users.
* Providing Technical Coordination with other Ministries and governmental organizations
mainly through technical committees and teams formed to resolve on Data Sharing and
national standards development.
The project was intended to collect the geospatial data by phase 1
of survey
* The second phase was to use the GIS location and conduct Census
survey
* Managed the development of Mobile applications for both
phases, manage the development of the database and
implementation of background Infrastructure to support the
project
* This was first GIS and mmobile based survey in the region

* Transferring knowledge to national GIS staff in all aspect related to geospatial data
management, applications, tools and technology, through structured lectures and on-
job training.
* Technical Management MoNE GIS projects and tasks, monitoring progress plans and
rectify when needed to drive projects to success and achieve targeted objectives;
* Assess users requirements from geo-information services and propose solutions to
address business needs;
* Assist in preparing policy guidelines for the establishment of spatial data infrastructures

* Recently I was fully involved in the national study to establish NSDI (National Spatial
Data Infrastructure) to launch one GIS and Imageries Gateway through a sharable and
common geospatial database. NORPLAN conducted successfully this study and under
the supervision of MoNE.

o Explore Oman (Using Google Technology and Google Enterprise SW)
o Enterprise SDE Geodatabase
o Web Based Application for all users in MONE
* Providing Consultancy and Technical management for the National wise project that the
Ministry is implemented for Census 2010, This Project is Building and Using Mobile GIS
in carrying out the Buildings Listing Stage of the Census 2010, it consists of Customizing
ArcPad to allow using the Geodatabase in gathering summarized information about
buildings, house units, households and establishments
