My responsibilities as a Solution Architect are
• Architecture governance
• To provide technical leadership, authority and support for allocated applications / projects to ensure their ongoing technical "health" maintaining its compatibility with IT strategy intact
• To work with other Architects to ensure that solutions that Logica provide to Aon are appropriate, of high quality, consistent across applications and fit within the defined IT Strategy, Principles and Standards
• To guide business analysts to produce assessments containing high level technical solution and estimates for those solutions
• To work with Testing team to produce meaningful test strategy and test cases
• To work with infrastructure team to educate the team about ongoing projects and help them assessing impact of infrastructure initiatives

• To work with Configuration mgt to keep track of the code bases and measure its evolution

Project Description: Aon UK has a document repository in a old filenet version. There about 28 million documents that are used bu Aon for its day to day business. This document repository had several performance issues. To cope up with that Aon decided to migrate these documents to File.net P4 version. Logica is implementing this migration along with HP. I am providing architecture guidance to this initiative by coordinating with HP and Aon architects

Project Description: eAccounts is an initiative where the London Market Reform Group in association with XIS, is implementing electronic processing using agreed ACORD messaging guidelines within the London Market. Aon UK currently processes premium transactions manually with XIS. For eAccounts Logica has enhanced Aon UK core business systems to meet the essential requirements of eAccounts. A new application has also been built to manage and control the electronic release of transactions to XIS along with documents. Logica also led Aon to get ACORD certified for eAccounts- first in London Market.

Technology - implementation was done on various technologies like J2EE, Mainframes, dotNET and hosted on IBM WebSphere Application severs and Microsoft IIS servers. Messages are handled and processed using IBM Websphere message brokers. The electronic messages or transactions are designed to conform to ACORD RLC (Reinsurance Large Commercials) standard for business messages and ACORD DRI (Document Repository Interoperability) standard for document transmissions

I restored MAPICS R4 environments from their old machine to new iSeries and did a CISC -RISC conversion. Later these environments were migrated to MAPICS R7 environments.

Project Description: This application was designed to automate the generation of Production schedule reports. Earlier these reports were done using Excel sheets. The new application takes the input from a Excel document and stores it to the application database. On regular intervals the application fetches manufacturing data from MAPICS for the item numbers fed by excel sheet and populates the application database. The application also provide GUI to manipulate various data related to Manufacturing and allows to generate reports on Crystal 9
I worked in the capacity of a project leader involving all t stages. The application runs on WebSphere application server V5.0 on Linux redhat residing in a logical partition of iSeries. The development has been done using WebSphere studio application developer -Integration Edition v5.0. The backend is DB2 V8.1

Project Description: MAPICS is an ERP product for manufacturing companies which runs on AS/400.Till R6 version MAPICS was based on small talk architecture and was accessible over green screen only. MAPICS R7 is based on java architecture and makes full use of benefits of java language. Now mapics can be accessed and operated over variety of clients like green screen, browser or mobile components
My role was involved in preparation of a white paper for implementation approaches to Mapics R7.I was responsible in implementation and testing of Mapics R7 with its three interfaces -Power Link which is a thick client interface, Net Link which is a web browser interface and System link which is the XML interface for the various applications to integrate Mapics with them.
