As Head of Credit & Collection my responsibilities include the following
Responsible for monitoring and reviewing debtors’ accounts and preparing various monthly reports like Customer Ageing Analysis, Group Companies Ageing Analysis for presentation to senior management.
Preparing corporate proposals and recommending to the Management on the existing facilities provided to SME’s / Corporate with regard to renewals / enhancement / revisions / new facilities after thorough assessment on their credit and business risk.
Preliminary credit appraisal & risk assessment through financial analysis
Compile a database vis-à-vis industry verticals.
Managing a team of 10 debt collection executives and supervising application of receipts, reconciliation of accounts and collection efforts
Settling Monthly Collection Targets for the team and ensuring timely collection of receivables
Responsible for Performance appraisal of My team
Liaising with customers with regard to settlement of overdue receivables
Liaising with all sales departments (Franchises) with regard to issues related to invoicing, resolution of issues brought up by customers etc.
Involved in Credit approvals for Corporate and Individual customers which includes credit appraisal, Verifications of documents, Sanction & disbursements of Trade Credit.
Conducting risk analysis from lending perspective and scrutinizing relevant documents before sanctioning credit and ensuring compliance with organisational credit policies.
Supervising Data Verification and Field Investigation activities with a view to obtain accurate information to assess the creditworthiness of the customers.
Follow up with Banks and Financial Institutions - Opinion about Customer BCSB / Mala’a record status for new deal
Strategizing and implementing systems improvement.
Follow up with legal department for default cases to proceed with legal action
Evaluate and improve credit policies, credit adjustment processes and collection processes by developing frameworks and methodologies, including standard/check-lists, risk assessment, evaluation techniques and analysis

Contributed to designing a system for tracking invoices, raised by various supplier departments within the group but not submitted to customers. This involved designing an invoice submission system which is linked to the receivables ledger.
