Zayed National Museum, Abu Dhabi, UAE - Arabtec Construction
Successfully led high-performing section on this challenging and innovative AED2.5 billion (package size AED800 million) Mega project designed by Norman Foster Architects for Abu Dhabi Department of Tourism and Culture.
Key responsibilities / achievements
• established full-size mock-up supported with and testing of every element prior to construction to evidence quality and secure approvals in line with the Zero Tolerance specification.
• positively contributing to the engineering of the unique structure and façade for the project which included white concrete, space fame steel structure, geometric GRC façade panels, piling, caps, concrete structures, waterproofing, lighting, landscape, rammed earth, backfill etc.
Media City 5*Hotel, Grand Plaza by Movenpick, Dubai, UAE - Arabtec Construction
Transferred onto this challenging legacy project a $92.5m 5* Hotel which included the private residence of the Sultan of Bahrain. l Joined the team at request of Regional Director to support the façade works which were significantly behind programme. The project consisted of: Private Residence, Restaurants, Swimming pool, Roof top restaurant and bar, Basement Car Parking areas, Landscaping, Civil Structure, Infrastructure, Structural Façade, Automatic Revolving doors BMU etc.
Key responsibilities / achievements
• tasked with establishing a detailed recovery strategy and programme.
• established relationships with underperforming supply subcontractors and supply chain.
• monitored off site and on-site material deliveries and installations.
• liaised with Arabtec and Client senior representatives with weekly rate of progress reviews.
• Role extended to include managing all construction team members with responsibility for completion of structure and bedroom fit out elements through to completion and Civil Défense approvals.

Transferred to Dubai Head office with aim of providing specialist facade support across the business.

• Supported work winning and bid team, providing technical advice and solutions with commercial evaluation of supply chain prices, identifying costed value engineering solutions.
• Liaised with project teams, identifying areas of concern with façade installations to provide support in developing technical and programme solutions.
Abu Dhabi Plaza, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan - Arabtec Construction
Joined Arabtec on this iconic legacy project which had endured several technical and commercial challenges resulting in a stop start rate of progress. A Mega Project valued $1.5Bn and East Asia’s tallest Building at 383m consisting of 5* Hotel, retail Centre, private residences and office space,
Key responsibilities / achievements
• Established innovative proactive approach to façade, podium, civil and structural steel works, improving rate of progress towards completion.
• Managed design, fabrication and installation of all façade elements.
The Lakhta Centre, Saint Petersburg, Russia - Renaissance Construction
A Mega project with a value more than $1.5Bn with 101 innovations with a façade package value more than $100m.
Key responsibilities / achievements
• Successfully led the Façade Team from implementation to installation of all façade works on Europe’s tallest tower at 462m.
• I successfully coordinated, manage, and constructed a fabrication facility using an ex-Hyundai Car plant dedicated to the project to save on time and allow for consistent control of fabrication and materials.
• Successful managing all aspects of the design to A status including all full-scale mock-ups and testing as per specification.
375 Kensington High Street, Kensington, West London - Berkeley Homes Developer
375 Kensington high Street is a flagship development and regeneration of the surrounding area offering a range of high specification one, two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses with a minimum sale value in excess of $1.3m - $25m per unit, a challenging but rewarding project. The project was adjacent to a major railway line and on a main public … The project had a zero-defect policy to which an exceedingly high standard was achieved, which led to international sales and high revenue for the business. Project Value $1.5Bn
Key responsibilities / achievements
• Successfully managed a large team from implementation to completion of this flagship project.
• Managed off site material deliveries including obtaining sandstone mined in Portugal then shipped to Texas USA to produce an innovative cladding product, having the appearance of stone but at a fraction of the weight, allowing savings on materials and installation costs and time.
• Supported the procurement of these high-quality façade works.
Pioneer Point, Ilford, London - London and Regent Construction
Successfully let the project team on a mixed-use development at Pioneer Point in Ilford, London with a project value of $84m that consisted of two towers adjacent to one another 120m and 90m respectively, consisting of two concrete structures, structural steel, deep piling and raft slab, unitized façade, podium, and including Europe’s largest escalator installation at the time. This project was a retail development with private office accommodation, built on time and within budget.

• Managed facade works including unitized curtain walling.
• Planned, managed and coordinated installations on a challenging site footprint in a city center location.
Athena Court - Stratford, East London
Athena Court Tower on Stratford High-street London. Consisting of concrete structure, podium, raft slab and piles, unitized curtain wall and bespoke entrances. For this project due to my value engineering and alternative systems approximately 20% of the budget was saved that led to a high profit margin for the business. Project Value $45m
Key responsibilities / achievements
• Managed design and installation of façade works.
• Coordinated installations with the London Olympic Committee due to the installation of the infrastructure for the London Olympics adjacent to the project.
• Undertook extensive value engineering with resultant 20% savings from budget for client, realizing improved profit margins for the business from benefit in shared savings.
