Providing specialized technical expertise to the United States Military to solve various environmental and safety issues. Assisting the Environmental safety and health Manager with administration of ESH programs including air, water, Hazmat, Hazwaste and special projects.
Also providing technical guidance to the Army Pre-Position Stock - 5 managers on all ESH matters, ensuring that all Country and host nation policies are followed.
Other Duties include: Incident / Accident investigations, Conducting Job Safety Analysis and Audits which includes visiting job sites. I also conduct Daily / weekly and Monthly job site inspections, Develop and conduct daily ToolBox topics and provide safety training to the sections as and when needed. I also maintain continuous inspections of site activities and advise and coach personnel involved on a daily basis to prevent accidents, injuries and property damage.
Responsible for the daily management and legislative compliance of Health & Safety for a newly built 680, 000 sq ft warehouse site, with a team of 5, providing guidance and training to the 300 employees, to a level to permit them to carry out their daily duties safely.
Reporting directly to the General Manager on issues of health & Safety, and preparing monthly safety reports and statistics for the directors and key stakeholders informing them on key issues.
Undertaking Internal Environmental and Safety audits ensuring non-compliance issues are rectified in the approved time frame and leading the investigations into incidents, accidents and any near misses.
Also responsible for the day to day running of the hard and soft services of the site, setting up contracts and running the PPM and emergency maintenance.
