DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Ward Nurse:
• Prepare the unit and admission procedure of the patient.
• Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of effective nursing care.
• Prepare patient for various investigation like CT, MRI scans, USG, X-ray, ECG, mammography,
Nuclear Scan etc. and interpreting the reports from each departments.
• Operating health care machines.
• Provide psychological support to the patient and the relatives mainly for cancer patients.
• Collecting specimens evaluate and record results and take immediate action if in case of emergency
situations.
• Follow Medical & Surgical asepsis and maintain barrier-nursing techniques during administration of chemotherapy medicines also.
• Administering all therapeutic drugs and evaluating their effects.
Procedure Done and Assisted
Checking Vital Signs, Medication Administration, Blood Transfusion, Sample Collection For Various
Investigations, Receiving And Managing Emergency Cases, Preparing Patients For Surgeries, Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation, Catheterization, NG tube insertion and feeding, Assisting intubation, Assisting
lumbar puncture, Stomach Wash, Oral And ET tube Suctioning, colostomy care, Fluid Calculation and
Administration, Caring Unconscious Patients, Surgical wound Dressing,
Tracheostomy Care

BP Apparatus, Pulse Oximeter, Infusion Pump, Suction apparatus, Nebulizer, Ventilator, Steam Inhaler,

➢Admission, Transfer & discharge of clients

➢ Performed procedure like hot and cold application
